About the role
You will lead and develop a high-performing outside sales team in the Fort Wayne, IN market while supervising a team of 3-4 Account Managers. You will directly manage key customer relationships within your territory and drive revenue growth through strategic execution. You will play a critical role in expanding Tec-Hackett's presence within fluid power-focused industries, including industrial, OEM, and MRO customers. You will leverage comprehensive solutions such as electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and machine safety products to solve complex customer challenges. You will coach sales talent, build customer partnerships, and deliver measurable results through hands-on leadership. You will execute strategic initiatives that strengthen long-term customer value and market penetration. You will act as a key link between the technical team and customers, ensuring alignment between solutions and application needs. You will champion the company's capabilities in custom hydraulic power units, hydraulic manifold assembly, pneumatic logic systems, VFD startup services, and expert technical and field support.

What you'll do
Establish and execute territory business plans that align with corporate growth objectives for fluid power solutions.
Analyze market trends and customer requirements to identify opportunities for hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and safety product expansion.
Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key accounts in industrial, OEM, and MRO segments to secure long-term contracts.
Collaborate with internal engineering and technical teams to design custom hydraulic power units and hydraulic manifold assemblies that meet specific customer specifications.
Lead the commercial adoption of pneumatic logic systems and VFD startup services by guiding customers through implementation and value realization.
Coordinate field support and technical resources to ensure solution reliability and customer satisfaction post-sale.
Monitor competitor activity and market dynamics to adjust sales strategies and maintain competitive positioning.
Drive performance metrics and sales forecasts to support accurate pipeline management and inventory planning.
Coach and mentor Account Managers on consultative selling techniques, negotiation skills, and customer relationship development.
Own the end-to-end sales cycle from initial engagement to contract finalization and ongoing account growth within the territory.
Requirements
Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Fort Wayne, IN 46808 area.
Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record suitable for regional travel.
Must have the right to work authorization in the United States without sponsorship requirements.
Must have a professional appearance and demeanor suitable for representing Tec-Hackett in industrial and OEM environments.
Must be able to lift and transport product literature, sample components, and light equipment during customer visits when necessary.
Must pass a background check and meet company compliance standards for external sales roles.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate technical solutions to diverse audiences.
Must demonstrate a results-oriented mindset with the discipline to manage a territory and lead a sales team effectively.
Nice to have
Experience in fluid power, industrial automation, or distribution environments is preferred.
Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical product categories and their industrial applications.
Background in outside sales leadership within the industrial or MRO sector.
Experience with custom hydraulic power units, hydraulic manifold assembly, or pneumatic logic systems.
Understanding of VFD startup services and machine safety integration within automated systems.
Practical notes
This is an outside sales role requiring regional travel to customer sites within the Fort Wayne area and surrounding regions.
The hire will manage a team of Account Managers and is expected to provide coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
Travel expectations are consistent with territory coverage in Indiana and adjacent states as defined by company policy.
