What you'll do

• Organize and train local volunteers to engage with community members on policy priorities

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in grassroots organizing or community outreach within a political advocacy setting
• Strong understanding of North Dakota's political landscape, community dynamics, and local civic engagement
• Ability to travel regularly across the state to meet with local partners, volunteers, and community stakeholders
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for crafting persuasive advocacy materials and outreach content
• Proven track record of managing teams or coordinating multi-person field campaigns in a professional environment
• Comfort with data collection and reporting on engagement metrics, outreach results, and volunteer activity
• Alignment with the mission of advancing practical policy solutions through grassroots action and community involvement
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends for event participation and community meetings
• Experience working with diverse populations and building inclusive coalitions that represent a wide range of community voices
• Self-directed work ethic with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet ongoing deadlines independently

Nice to have

• Prior experience working with a national advocacy organization or philanthropic network is highly valued
• Familiarity with voter registration drives and get-out-the-vote campaign techniques in a grassroots context
• Background in public policy, political science, or a related field of study is preferred
• Existing relationships with community leaders and organizations across North Dakota can be a strong asset
• Experience with digital organizing tools and online advocacy platforms to support remote and in-person engagement
• Knowledge of North Dakota's legislative process and key state agencies can provide an advantage in field work

Practical notes
