The coordinator will work closely with team members across departments to ensure that operations run smoothly and that facilities are well-maintained, enabling staff and volunteers to focus on their core advocacy and research work.

What you'll do
Support the daily operational needs of the Washington, DC office to ensure a productive and organized work environment.
Coordinate facility maintenance, repairs, and upkeep to keep all office spaces safe, clean, and fully functional.
Manage office supplies, equipment, and inventory to prevent shortages and reduce unnecessary waste.
Assist with the planning and logistics of internal meetings, events, and gatherings hosted by the organization.
Serve as a point of contact for vendors, contractors, and service providers related to facilities and operations.
Help maintain compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and organizational policies regarding workplace conditions.
Collaborate with team members across departments to identify operational improvements and streamline everyday workflows.
Oversee the scheduling and coordination of space usage, meeting rooms, and shared resources within the office.
Support the onboarding and offboarding process for staff, including setting up workspaces and distributing equipment.
Contribute to the development and updating of operational procedures and documentation for the facilities team.
Requirements
Demonstrated experience in office operations, facilities management, or a related administrative field.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities at the same time.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.
Proficiency with standard office software and tools for managing schedules, inventories, and documentation.
Ability to work independently and take initiative in identifying and resolving operational issues promptly.
Attention to detail and a dependable work ethic suited to a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Willingness to work on-site in Washington, DC on a full-time basis.
Comfort with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative duties to hands-on facilities coordination.
Nice to have
Prior experience working within a nonprofit, advocacy, or political organization in a support capacity.
Familiarity with Washington, DC office environments and the logistics of managing a professional workspace in the capital.
Experience coordinating events or meetings for teams of varying sizes and compositions.
