What you'll do
Coordinate field activities across North Dakota to grow grassroots support for local and state-level policy initiatives and campaigns.
Build and maintain strong relationships with local community leaders, dedicated volunteers, and regional coalition partners throughout the state.
Plan and execute voter outreach events, town hall meetings, and community gatherings to connect with residents across North Dakota.
Recruit, train, and manage a growing network of grassroots activists and volunteers in assigned regions within the state.
Develop targeted strategies to engage diverse communities and meaningfully expand the organization's reach and influence across North Dakota.
Track and report on campaign activities, supporter engagement metrics, and field outcomes to inform ongoing strategic planning efforts.
Collaborate closely with national AFP staff to align regional field efforts with broader organizational goals and priorities.
Serve as a public representative of the organization at community events, local gatherings, and civic meetings throughout the region.
Identify the most important policy issues affecting North Dakota residents and help shape effective advocacy campaigns accordingly.
Support the Stand Together community's broader mission by connecting local grassroots efforts to statewide and national policy initiatives.
Requirements
Experience in grassroots organizing, community outreach, or political field work at the state or regional level is essential.
Strong ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with a wide range of diverse audiences and community stakeholders.
Willingness to travel extensively within North Dakota and attend events outside standard business hours including evenings and weekends.
Demonstrated experience building and leading teams of volunteers or community organizers in a structured and productive capacity.
Familiarity with policy issues relevant to North Dakota and the broader Midwest region is important for success in this role.
Capacity to manage independent field responsibilities while maintaining close coordination with national AFP staff and organizational leadership.
Strong organizational and planning skills with careful attention to detail when tracking field activities, events, and campaign outcomes.
Comfort with public speaking and representing the organization at community events, town halls, and local civic gatherings.
Nice to have
Prior involvement with philanthropic organizations or networks focused on policy reform and community advocacy efforts at the state level.
Familiarity with voter registration drives and grassroots mobilization techniques in a state-level political or civic context.
Background in tracking and reporting field data using digital tools, spreadsheets, or campaign management and reporting systems.
Experience working with state-level policy leaders or elected officials in North Dakota or the surrounding Midwest region.
