This position leads the conception and delivery of cultural initiatives that redefine audience perspectives on civic life. The Director of Marketing, Culture Campaigns translates the strategic priorities of Stand Together into resonant narratives across music, sports, and entertainment. The role owns the end-to-end development of integrated campaigns, connecting strategic objectives with creators, channels, and experiences to drive meaningful engagement. Success is defined by the ability to lead cross-functional efforts and deliver results that enhance public awareness and participation in civic life. This is a full-time position based in Arlington, VA, reporting to senior leadership within the organization. The selected candidate will manage a portfolio of projects requiring high-level strategic thinking and operational execution. The compensation package for this role ranges from $180,000 to $220,000 annually, reflecting the scope and impact of the position.
What You'll Do
You will architect and manage complex marketing initiatives, designing audience pathways that guide individuals from initial awareness to deep, sustained involvement with Stand Together's mission. You will craft cohesive journeys where messaging, content, partnerships, and experiences work in concert to build credibility and social proof.
You will lead multi-disciplinary teams and partner closely with internal leaders and external collaborators to ensure all activations align with overarching movement goals and maintain brand integrity. This includes coordinating with product teams to synchronize campaigns with key milestones and cultural moments, ensuring maximum relevance and impact.
You will analyze performance data to identify opportunities and refine tactics, ensuring campaigns evolve to meet changing audience expectations through continuous evaluation of audience behavior and engagement metrics. This iterative process of measurement, experimentation, and learning is critical for optimizing long-term effectiveness.
You will scan the cultural landscape to identify high-potential moments and partnerships that can amplify Stand Together's message. This requires a deep fluency in how culture, media, and community partnerships interact to drive conversation and shift perceptions.
You will apply these skills to illustrative initiatives such as the WAY Campaign, the "One Million Strong" initiative, and the "Atlanta Changemakers" project. Each initiative requires a unique approach to storytelling and audience activation, all aimed at mobilizing specific communities. Requirements
Candidates must bring three to five years of proven experience directing marketing initiatives in fast-paced, dynamic environments. A successful track record must include the development of campaigns that engage diverse audiences and influence perspectives on complex issues. The ideal candidate demonstrates a clear understanding of how to use cultural trends and media partnerships to extend organizational reach.
Strong project management skills are essential. The Director must excel at managing simultaneous projects while maintaining strict adherence to objectives, timelines, and desired outcomes. The ability to synthesize complex information and communicate clear strategies to various stakeholders is a non-negotiable requirement.
