About the role
You will lead the delivery of a Navy Comptroller support project in Norfolk, Virginia, taking ownership of the end-to-end execution across three distinct work streams. You will act as the central coordination point for all project activities, ensuring alignment between the Navy program office and the distributed team of analysts and technicians. You will manage the detailed project schedule, monitor progress against milestones, and proactively identify and mitigate risks before they impact delivery. You will facilitate communication across subcontractor teams, fostering collaboration and transparency to maintain momentum and shared understanding. You will prepare status reports and manage documentation to ensure clarity of objectives, decisions, and issues for stakeholders. You will apply your analytical mindset to interpret requirements and translate them into actionable plans that remain adaptable to evolving needs. You will uphold the highest standards of professionalism and accuracy in all interactions, reinforcing client trust and confidence in the program. What you'll do
Coordinate the planning and execution of the Navy ERP Support work stream, ensuring tasks are sequenced, resourced, and tracked effectively.
Oversee the Data Analytics and Visualization work stream, defining deliverables, timelines, and dependencies for analytical models and reporting tools.
Lead the Financial Analysts work stream, aligning resource allocation, review cycles, and quality checks with program objectives.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive project schedule that integrates activities across all three work streams and subcontractors.
Facilitate regular coordination meetings with subcontractor teams to review progress, resolve issues, and confirm alignment with expectations.
Monitor key performance indicators and project health metrics, escalating risks or deviations to ensure timely corrective actions.
Serve as the primary liaison between the Navy program office and internal teams, translating directives into clear tasks and deliverables.
Manage documentation and version control for project artifacts, ensuring traceability and accessibility for audits or reviews.
Implement status reporting routines that capture accomplishments, challenges, and decisions in a concise, structured format for leadership.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying gaps in workflows and proposing enhancements that increase efficiency and reliability.
Support the refinement of requirements throughout the project lifecycle, capturing changes and assessing impacts on scope and resources.
Promote a culture of safety and compliance within the project by reinforcing security protocols and data handling standards.
Champion collaboration across diverse teams, encouraging knowledge sharing and cross-training to strengthen overall capability.
Represent Significance at client meetings and internal forums, demonstrating professionalism and mastery of project execution.
Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
Active Secret security clearance is required.
Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, business analysis, or a related field.
At least 5 of those years must be in a project management role supporting government programs, ideally within the Department of Defense or Navy environment.
Experience managing projects with a value of at least $10 million is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Project or similar scheduling tools is mandatory.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, with the ability to tailor messaging for technical and executive audiences.
Candidates must be able to pass a government background investigation and meet all eligibility requirements for a Public Trust position.
Nice to have
Experience supporting Navy Comptroller functions or financial management programs is preferred.
Familiarity with ERP systems used within the Department of Defense is a significant advantage.
Knowledge of data visualization platforms such as Power BI or Tableau is highly desirable.
Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations and compliance frameworks is valued.
Experience managing multiple concurrent work streams and subcontractor relationships is preferred.
Background in defense financial management or audit support environments is a strong asset.
