What you'll do

• Analyze intake data to clarify program expectations and requirements for new students entering the English Language Foundations program.
• Organize instructional materials to construct logical, sequential, and coherent lessons that support English language development across multiple skill areas.
• Evaluate student work using established criteria to refine teaching strategies and improve overall skill acquisition and retention.
• Document student progress meticulously to track individual growth and ensure alignment with established learning objectives and institutional goals.
• Coordinate with academic teams and department stakeholders to create a consistently supportive and student-centered learning environment for all participants.
• Implement differentiated support methods that respond effectively to the diverse language proficiency levels and learning needs present in the classroom.
• Maintain rigorous academic standards by identifying, addressing, and appropriately reporting suspected cases of academic dishonesty in accordance with policy.
• Adapt personal schedules to accommodate occasional early morning, evening, or weekend instructional sessions as required by program demands.
• Facilitate active learning environments where students can practice language skills in contextually relevant and engaging scenarios.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the ELF program by providing feedback on curriculum effectiveness and student outcomes.
• Support the integration of technology and pedagogical tools to enhance the learning experience for students in various delivery formats.
• Promote inclusive classroom practices that respect the varied backgrounds, cultures, and experiences of all learners within the Canadian educational context.
• Monitor and adjust instructional pacing to ensure that all students have sufficient opportunities to practice and master required competencies.
• Serve as a representative of the Academic Services unit and the broader mission of Sait in all professional interactions.

Requirements

A minimum of three years of experience in teaching or supporting language learning in a formal educational setting is mandatory for this role. You must possess eligibility to work in Canada without the need for sponsorship for this specific position. Instructors are expected to deliver content to students at Canadian Language Benchmark levels that align with the prescribed curriculum for ELF COMN and SPCH classes. Clear and effective communication in spoken and written English is essential during all professional interactions and instructional activities. The ability to organize complex classroom activities while managing competing priorities and deadlines is a critical skill for success in this environment. Collaboration with colleagues across academic teams is required to ensure consistent pedagogical and technical support is provided to learners. You must be capable of applying instructional strategies that promote learner independence and long-term skill development beyond the classroom. Adherence to institutional policies regarding academic integrity is non-negotiable, and any suspected dishonesty must be handled with professionalism and care. Instructor. The compensation package includes an hourly rate ranging from $38.18 to $44.66. A total of three positions are currently available for this opportunity.
