What you'll do

• Lead the design and development of automated testing frameworks that align with Roku's quality assurance objectives.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate automated tests into the continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies that encompass functional, performance, and regression testing.
• Mentor and guide junior QA team members in best practices for test automation and quality assurance methodologies.
• Analyze test results and provide actionable insights to improve product quality and performance.
• Identify areas for automation within the testing process and implement solutions to enhance efficiency.
• Work closely with product management to understand requirements and translate them into effective testing strategies.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in QA automation to continuously improve testing practices.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure testability and quality of the software being developed.
• Document testing processes and maintain clear communication with stakeholders regarding testing progress and results.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure seamless deployment and monitoring of automated tests in production environments.
• Advocate for quality throughout the software development lifecycle and promote a culture of quality within the organization.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on automation.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing automated testing frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Appium, or similar technologies.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript, with the ability to write clean, maintainable code.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI, and experience integrating automated tests into these pipelines.
• Solid understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner is a plus.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies and microservices architecture is advantageous.

Nice to have

• Experience in the streaming media industry or related fields.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Understanding of security testing practices and tools.
• Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role within a QA team.

Skills & tools

• Proficiency in test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, JUnit).
• Strong knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git.
• Familiarity with test management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or similar.
• Experience with performance and load testing tools.
• Knowledge of API testing tools like Postman or SoapUI.
