Run integration tests with UK and European broadcast partners to validate schedule accuracy, electronic program guide data, and playback reliability across devices.

Review implementation details with QA and product teams to ensure alignment prior to release, reducing rework and improving cross-functional clarity.

Ship updates for regional channels, coordinating closely with operations teams to maintain stable delivery and minimize viewer disruption.

Partner with certification bodies like ETV, the BBC, and DTG to satisfy strict technical standards and navigate complex approval processes efficiently.

Automate regression checks to speed testing cycles, increase test coverage, and support frequent deployment goals for agile television software.

Collaborate across time zones using asynchronous communication to sustain feature momentum and resolve integration issues swiftly without blocking progress.

Analyze production telemetry and user feedback to identify patterns that inform future improvements and guide prioritization for subsequent iterations.

Contribute to technical documentation that supports knowledge sharing, onboarding, and long-term maintainability of regional television platforms.

Mentor junior engineers by providing code review feedback, pairing on tricky problems, and demonstrating effective debugging techniques for broadcast-related issues.

Evaluate third-party libraries and tools for suitability in a broadcast environment, balancing innovation with stability and compliance obligations.

Participate in on-call rotations to respond to incidents affecting regional streams and collaborate with SRE teams to improve system resilience.

Champion engineering practices that promote accessibility, performance, and reliability for diverse audiences across Europe and Australia.

Requirements

Holding 3-5 years of professional experience building software for television or streaming platforms, with a strong track record of delivering production-grade features.

Understanding how video streams flow through pipelines and interact with broadcast protocols, including transport streams and associated metadata.

Writing clear, maintainable code and effectively communicating technical trade-offs to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders during planning and review sessions.

Demonstrating proficiency in at least one modern programming language commonly used for backend or systems-level television software.

Showing evidence of working with continuous integration and deployment pipelines in a regulated environment where quality is critical.

Proven ability to read and interpret technical requirements, specifications, and standards without constant clarification from authors.

Committing to a collaborative work style that thrives in cross-functional teams and respects the constraints of international certification processes.
