What you'll do
- Lead and assist with operational due diligence for private equity transactions, including buy-side, sell-side, and carve-out scenarios.
- Evaluate manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, quality, maintenance, and distribution operations to find risks and opportunities for value creation.
- Assess how well operations can scale in relation to investment goals and growth plans.
- Create data-driven plans for value creation, including initial 100-day strategies, implementation priorities, and key performance indicators.
- Conduct current operational assessments across various areas like production, labor efficiency, planning, maintenance, quality, and procurement.
- Identify and help implement initiatives to boost EBITDA, such as cost reduction, productivity gains, working capital improvements, and operational excellence programs.
- Analyze labor, overhead, and operating costs to build business cases for operational investments, restructuring, and network optimization.
- Translate operational findings into clear, investment-focused recommendations for executive teams and private equity sponsors.
- Support and lead engagement teams, manage daily client relationships, and deliver high-quality work.
- Help clients establish sustainable operating rhythms, governance processes, and performance management tools.
- Perform detailed analyses of working capital cycles, inventory turns, and days sales outstanding to uncover liquidity improvements.
- Benchmark operational metrics against industry standards to highlight competitive gaps and improvement areas.
Requirements
- 5-8+ years of experience in operations consulting, operational due diligence, operational excellence, or performance improvement within manufacturing, distribution, or industrial settings.
- Experience working with private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies.
- Background in supporting operational due diligence engagements for either buy-side or sell-side transactions.
- Proven ability to evaluate operational performance, pinpoint areas for improvement, and develop practical implementation plans.
- Track record of delivering measurable improvements in areas like cost reduction, productivity, throughput, EBITDA, or working capital.
- Familiarity with operational excellence methods such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, or Theory of Constraints.
- Strong financial understanding, capable of connecting operational findings to financial outcomes.
- Experience collaborating with executive leadership, including C-suite members, private equity sponsors, and operating partners.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation abilities.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required by client needs.
- Demonstrated success managing stakeholders and influencing decision-making in complex environments.
- Capacity to synthesize large volumes of data into concise insights that drive strategic decisions.
- Adherence to strict quality standards and attention to detail in all deliverables.
- Commitment to continuous learning and applying best practices across diverse industries.

- Prior consulting experience with a top-tier strategy firm, a leading specialist advisory firm, or a Big Four consulting firm is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with advanced data analytics tools to support operational and financial analysis.
