About the role
This entry-level position is essential for overseeing safety measures at our Dream Fulfillment Center. As the main safety representative, you will guide employees on safe working practices and ensure compliance with both company policies and legal requirements. Your role will be pivotal in fostering a safe work environment and promoting a culture of safety among all staff members.

What you'll do
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to pinpoint potential hazards and compliance issues within the facility.
- Lead thorough investigations into workplace incidents, focusing on equipment-related and fleet-related occurrences.
- Perform Job Hazard Analyses and suggest effective strategies for risk mitigation, including ergonomic enhancements.
- Maintain precise safety metrics and ensure accurate documentation of incidents in OSHA 300 and 300a logs.
- Provide immediate support to associates or guests during medical emergencies, ensuring swift and effective responses.
- Educate operations staff about their safety responsibilities and the company's safety policies through comprehensive training sessions.
- Collaborate closely with the security team to align safety protocols with security measures, enhancing overall workplace safety.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes to continuously improve safety standards within the organization.
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety programs that promote a proactive approach to workplace safety.
- Facilitate safety meetings and workshops to engage employees in discussions about safety improvements and concerns.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety training programs, making adjustments as necessary to ensure maximum impact.
- Serve as a resource for employees seeking guidance on safety-related issues, fostering an open line of communication regarding safety concerns.
Requirements
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Ergonomics, or a related discipline is required.
- A minimum of one year of experience in safety or environmental programs within production, manufacturing, service, or security sectors is essential.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is required to effectively communicate with a diverse workforce.
- Certification in First Aid, AED, and CPR is mandatory to ensure preparedness for emergencies.
- A solid understanding of OSHA regulations and compliance standards is crucial for this role.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds is necessary for certain tasks.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed to meet operational demands.
- Proficiency in Google Suite, including Google Sheets, as well as familiarity with Looker and Jira is expected.
Nice to have
- Experience working in a distribution or manufacturing facility with a workforce of at least 500 non-exempt employees is advantageous.
- OSHA 30 or 10 Outreach Instructor certification is a plus, enhancing your ability to train others effectively.
- Previous experience in developing safety training materials or programs would be beneficial.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in Google Suite, particularly Google Sheets for data management and reporting.
- Familiar with Looker for data visualization and analysis.
- Experienced in using Jira for project management and tracking safety initiatives.
- Knowledgeable in OSHA compliance and safety regulations to ensure adherence to legal standards.
- Skilled in incident investigation techniques to analyze and learn from workplace incidents.
- Competent in conducting risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Trained in emergency response protocols to effectively handle medical emergencies.
Practical notes
- Compensation for this role ranges from $19.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on your experience, educational background, and relevant certifications.
