Frontend Developer
Job description
About the role
Redwood Software seeks a Frontend Developer to join its automation platform team. This position operates within an AI-embedded Software Development Life Cycle. The role owns end-to-end responsibility for user interfaces, translating complex product objectives into resilient web experiences. You will directly influence how automation and agentic features appear to customers.
This position is based at Redwood Software Nederland B.V., Waterveste 3, 3992 DB Houten, The Netherlands. The engagement is Full-time. The compensation range is 65000-85000 EUR, reflecting 30 years of company experience and the Redwood Software product suite.
You will design intuitive user flows by converting ambiguous product goals into robust React components under demanding timelines. The work involves building and maintaining shareable design tokens and component libraries. These libraries ensure consistent behavior across orchestration modules and emerging agentic capabilities. You will scan pull requests and runtime behavior to identify accessibility gaps, performance regressions, and security concerns in AI-assisted code.
Responsibilities include shipping responsive interfaces through coordination with QA and platform teams. Validation in staging environments occurs before customer exposure. You will partner with data and AI specialists to prototype integrations. This work validates API contracts and aligns UI patterns with evolving agentic workflows.
The role applies prompt engineering techniques to generate unit scenarios and end-to-end test drafts. This activity accelerates verification cycles for new modules. You will guide architectural choices related to state management, lazy loading, and runtime theming. These decisions support long-term product scalability. Maintaining documentation and implementation patterns is essential. This work enables fast team onboarding and reduces context switching during maintenance.
You will troubleshoot production incidents by reproducing edge cases. Collaboration with backend engineers stabilizes integrations and resolves issues. Staying current on framework updates and ecosystem trends is required. You will propose experiments that enhance developer experience and user outcomes.
Core Requirements
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree or comparable experience. This experience should involve building complex user interfaces at scale. Professional React expertise is essential, along with a strong grasp of TypeScript, HTML, and current ecosystem standards. Regular consumption of REST and GraphQL APIs is expected. Handling intricate state transformations and side effects is a core duty.
You must debug rendering bottlenecks, hydration mismatches, and interaction flaws. Modern tooling and testing suites facilitate this work. Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders is necessary to align on priorities and tradeoffs. Writing and maintaining automated tests, including unit and end-to-end suites, safeguards releases against regressions.
Daily collaboration within a hybrid team is required. You will contribute to code reviews, design critiques, and architectural discussions. Mentoring junior engineers is a key function. You will share techniques that improve code quality, maintainability, and team learning.
Additional Qualifications
Experience contributing to open source projects is a valuable asset. Demonstrated impact through public repositories or published packages is noted.
Tools and Technologies
The role requires proficiency with specific tools. Core skills include React and TypeScript. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is mandatory. Experience with Redux, REST, and GraphQL is expected. You will use Playwright for testing. GitHub Copilot assists development activities.
