About the role
In this position, you will own the end-to-end sales cycle for Japan's most demanding financial institutions, acting as the trusted advisor at the C-suite level. You will leverage deep domain expertise to uncover complex business problems and position Quantexa as the definitive platform for risk and decision intelligence. This role requires you to build and sustain enterprise-level relationships, navigating multi-stakeholder environments to secure strategic commitments. You will be accountable for defining and driving the financial services strategy in Japan, ensuring alignment with the broader APAC objectives. Success in this role means consistently exceeding revenue targets by identifying new logo opportunities and expanding footprint within existing strategic accounts. You will orchestrate the sales motion from initial hypothesis to closed deal, managing intricate timelines and stakeholder dynamics. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with Solution Engineering and senior leadership to articulate the Quantexa value proposition and shape compelling commercial outcomes. Ultimately, you will serve as the primary architect of growth in the Japanese financial services sector, translating executive engagement into measurable business impact.

What you'll do
- Define and execute the Japan Financial Services go-to-market strategy in partnership with the Senior Director for Sales Japan, SME teams, and APAC Alliances Director.
- Conduct high-impact hunting across Japan's mega banks and insurance institutions to acquire new logo revenue.
- Consistently achieve and overachieve revenue targets while expanding footprint and deepening relationships within strategic accounts.
- Build and progress a high-quality, multi-opportunity pipeline through disciplined prospecting and structured account planning.
- Engage C-suite, business, data, and technology leaders, positioning Quantexa as a strategic enterprise partner rather than a simple vendor.
- Orchestrate complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles, managing decision-making dynamics to drive opportunities to a successful close.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with senior leadership and Solution Engineering to shape and deliver compelling technical and commercial outcomes.
- Execute aligned account strategies that convert executive engagement into tangible commercial results and long-term partnerships.
- Operate primarily from the Tokyo base, maintaining a sharp focus on the growth of Japan's Financial Services sector.
Requirements
- You possess a deep, proven understanding of the Japan financial services landscape, including the specific regulatory and operational dynamics of mega banks and insurance companies.
- You have a track record of selling complex, multi-stakeholder, multi-month enterprise software solutions at scale.
- You have direct experience working, selling, and achieving quota within Japan's mega banks and insurance institutions.
- You are an ambitious and energetic professional with highly refined interpersonal and communication skills.
- You are a strong team player who thrives in collaborative environments yet can independently drive results in challenging and imperfect circumstances.
- You demonstrate high emotional intelligence and possess an acute ability to read people and navigate complex organizational politics.
- You are fluent in Japanese and possess strong business-level English skills as a strict minimum requirement for all communications.
- You have substantial experience operating effectively within multi-national, cross-functional teams, including pre-sales, product, marketing, and customer success.
- You are committed to adhering to the professional standards and ethical guidelines that govern enterprise sales in the financial services industry.
- You must be legally authorized to work in Japan without sponsorship, as the role is based in Tokyo and requires immediate local presence.

- Ideally, you bring experience with Advanced Data Analytics, Big Data platforms, or AI/ML technologies within a financial context.
- Ideally, you have a background in Financial crime, KYC, or Fraud prevention solutions, understanding the risk management imperative.
- Ideally, you have hands-on experience with Data Management strategies or Data Platform implementations in enterprise environments.
- Ideally, you have some understanding of AI adoption patterns and the broader enterprise data transformation journey within Financial Services.
