About the role
You will architect and implement high-performance backend services using Golang for our global telecommunications clients, ensuring robust and scalable solutions. This role involves collaborating closely with product owners and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into efficient technical designs. You will own the full lifecycle of development for critical microservices, from initial conception through deployment and ongoing optimization. You will be responsible for writing clean, testable, and maintainable code that adheres to strict industry standards and security protocols. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements that enhance system reliability and performance. You will actively participate in code reviews and technical discussions to uphold best practices and foster knowledge sharing within the team. What you'll do
Design and develop scalable microservices and APIs using the Golang programming language to support complex telecom workflows and business logic.
Implement resilient and high-throughput backend components that integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructure and third-party telecommunication systems.
Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to refine requirements and define technical specifications for new features and service enhancements.
Optimize application performance by profiling, monitoring, and tuning services to meet stringent latency and availability targets.
Write comprehensive unit tests, integration tests, and documentation to ensure code quality, maintainability, and clear knowledge transfer.
Troubleshoot production issues by analyzing logs, metrics, and traces to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
Partner with DevOps engineers to containerize applications, manage infrastructure as code, and establish robust CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment.
Evaluate emerging technologies and frameworks to propose innovative solutions that improve development efficiency and system capabilities.
Ensure all implementations comply with telecommunications industry standards, security policies, and data protection regulations.
Mentor junior developers by providing technical guidance, conducting code reviews, and sharing best practices for Golang development.
Participate in architectural decision-making processes to shape the long-term vision and technical direction of the platform.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tooling, and engineering culture within the Qualysoft organization.
Requirements
You possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or you have equivalent practical experience.
You have a proven track record of at least 3 years working as a Golang developer in professional software engineering environments.
You demonstrate strong proficiency in Golang, including its concurrency patterns, standard library, and ecosystem of packages and frameworks.
You have hands-on experience with RESTful API design and development, including versioning, authentication, and error handling strategies.
You are skilled in using Git for version control, including branching strategies, code reviews, and collaboration workflows.
You have a solid understanding of software design patterns and principles such as SOLID, DRY, and KISS applied in backend development.
You are familiar with relational databases and SQL, with the ability to write efficient queries and optimize database interactions.
You possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues in distributed systems and network environments.
Nice to have
Experience with telecommunications systems, protocols, or service providers is highly valued for this position.
Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including container orchestration with Kubernetes, is considered an advantage.
Familiarity with messaging systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or NATS is a significant benefit for building event-driven architectures.
Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack is preferred.
Understanding of containerization technologies, particularly Docker, and infrastructure provisioning tools is advantageous.
Practical notes
This is a full-time position with a standard weekly commitment of 40 hours.
The role is based in our central Bucharest office located at Bd. Iancu de Hunedoara 54B.
This engagement is offered as a fixed-term contract with a defined duration and scope.
Candidates must be eligible to work in Romania without requiring additional visa sponsorship or relocation support.
The position is based in the European Eastern Time zone, requiring availability during overlapping business hours with European teams.
