Data Platforms Engineer Role
This position focuses on data platforms, where the candidate transforms complex, raw sources into reliable pipelines. The daily routine combines writing code, active discussion, and careful verification to ensure insights move safely. The role requires steady focus on logic and clarity, along with calm responses when systems encounter issues. The position links engineering effort with business intent through concrete artifacts and timely delivery.
The role is based in Bucharest and follows a fixed-term engagement. The compensation for this position is 42,000 EUR.
Key Responsibilities
You will design intake routines that strictly validate data formats, protecting downstream services from incorrect payloads. You will shape build logic using Databricks notebooks, ensuring each step is modular and transformations remain traceable. The role involves conducting review sessions where data contracts, test results, and run metrics are examined collectively.
You will coordinate ship preparations, including defining rollback strategies, adding monitoring hooks, and ensuring clear ownership handoffs. You will forge partner alignment by documenting interfaces, clarifying assumptions, and updating integration notes. The position requires orchestrating local testing workflows that mirror production patterns without accessing live environments.
You will guard data quality by embedding checks at multiple pipeline stages and logging anomalies for quick follow-up. Maintaining pipeline behavior is achieved through versioned configurations, structured logging, and consistent naming schemes. You will support continuous verification by comparing expected summaries against actual outputs after every run. The role also involves guiding knowledge transfer, pairing with teammates so operational understanding survives any single person.

You must hold at least 3-5 years of experience writing Scala for large datasets on Databricks. Solid experience with Azure Data Factory or similar orchestration tools is necessary. Comfort with SQL and Python is required to transform tables and debug integration issues. You need familiarity with cloud storage, networking basics, and secure handling of credentials.
Understanding of banking, insurance, or financial services data models is mandatory. Reliable debugging skills, including log analysis and the ability to create minimal reproduction steps, are essential.
Nice to Have
Experience with Tricentis Tosca is preferred for test automation contexts. Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform or Creatio is valued for wider integration scenarios.
