What you'll do

• Develop and maintain risk models that assess credit, market, and operational risks using statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and ensure the integrity and accuracy of data used in risk assessments.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and potential risk factors that could impact the organization's financial health.
• Create comprehensive reports and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior management and regulatory bodies.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing risk management strategies and propose enhancements based on data-driven insights.
• Conduct scenario analysis and stress testing to evaluate the resilience of the organization under various economic conditions.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in risk management and data science to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
• Mentor junior data scientists and analysts, providing guidance on best practices in data analysis and risk modeling.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis, risk management, or a related field, preferably within the financial services industry.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with data manipulation libraries like Pandas or NumPy.
• Strong understanding of statistical methods and machine learning techniques applicable to risk modeling.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms to effectively communicate insights.
• Familiarity with risk management frameworks and regulatory requirements in the financial sector.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice to have

• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark.
• Knowledge of SQL and experience with database management systems.
