About the role

You will lead the project controls discipline for a diverse portfolio of engineering, construction, infrastructure, and capital improvement initiatives. In this capacity, you will own the development, execution, and governance of integrated project controls frameworks that ensure financial and schedule integrity. You will act as the central authority for cost and schedule management, driving standardization and adherence to best practices across all project phases. Your work will provide strategic direction and technical counsel to project teams, managers, and executive stakeholders throughout the entire project lifecycle. You will be accountable for maintaining rigorous oversight of project budgets, analyzing schedule progress, and forecasting future performance to protect delivery objectives. Furthermore, you will lead, develop, and mentor project controls personnel to elevate capability and drive continuous improvement across program delivery. You will establish and enforce robust change management and risk analysis processes to proactively manage project deviations. What you'll do

Establish and implement project controls standards, procedures, and best practices tailored to the specific requirements of engineering, construction, infrastructure, and capital improvement projects.

Develop, manage, and maintain comprehensive project cost estimates, budgets, and funding plans in alignment with project scope and contractual agreements.

Analyze historical and projected project data to generate accurate cost and schedule forecasts, ensuring that project performance is clearly understood and communicated.

Lead the scheduling function by creating, updating, and optimizing detailed project schedules, and assessing the impact of changes on the overall project timeline.

Oversee the change management process, ensuring that all scope adjustments, variations, and claims are accurately documented, evaluated, and reflected in project baselines.

Perform rigorous risk analysis and opportunity identification, developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans to protect project cost and schedule objectives.

Monitor and report on project performance metrics, including earned value management, variance analysis, and trend analysis, to provide transparent insights to stakeholders.

Provide expert guidance and mentorship to project controls staff, fostering professional growth and ensuring consistent application of controls across multiple projects.

Collaborate closely with project managers, finance teams, engineers, and contractors to ensure alignment on project objectives and to resolve emerging issues.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating project controls performance, identifying gaps, and recommending enhancements to processes and tools.

Ensure compliance with project controls standards, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements across the full spectrum of project delivery activities.

Serve as the primary liaison for project controls matters, escalating critical issues and supporting decision-making with robust data analysis and scenario evaluation.

Requirements

Demonstrate a strong background in project controls, cost engineering, or a related discipline with a proven track record of success in engineering, construction, or infrastructure sectors.

Possess a thorough understanding of project management methodologies, cost estimating principles, scheduling techniques, and performance measurement practices.

Showcase experience in applying earned value management principles and tools to assess project performance and forecast outcomes effectively.

Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and communicate actionable recommendations.

Hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant field or possess equivalent practical experience and a strong foundational knowledge of project controls discipline.
