What you'll do

• Design and develop high-level architecture and technical specifications for software applications, ensuring they meet both functional and non-functional requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions that improve user experience and system performance.
• Lead the evaluation and selection of appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools to be used in the development process.
• Establish best practices for software development, including coding standards, testing protocols, and deployment strategies.
• Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
• Monitor and analyze system performance, identifying areas for optimization and implementing necessary enhancements.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending innovative solutions that can be integrated into our platform.
• Document architectural designs, technical specifications, and system interactions to ensure clarity and maintainability of the codebase.
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure that all software solutions adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups to ensure alignment with project goals.
• Engage with stakeholders to communicate architectural decisions and provide updates on project progress, ensuring transparency and alignment with business objectives.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing timely solutions to minimize impact on operations.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years in an architectural role.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python, with a strong understanding of object-oriented design principles.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL databases, and experience in designing data models.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies, particularly Agile and DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about complex technical challenges.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven experience in leading technical teams and mentoring junior developers.
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience in the fintech industry or with payment processing systems.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as React or Angular for full-stack development capabilities.
• Experience with API design and development, particularly RESTful services.
• Understanding of security protocols and best practices in software development.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in software architecture design and documentation.
• Strong coding skills in multiple programming languages.
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and automated testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of performance monitoring and logging tools to ensure system reliability.
