What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust software applications that enhance the functionality of the Paga platform.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and implement new features that improve user experience and drive business growth.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices, providing constructive feedback to team members.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues, ensuring the platform operates smoothly and efficiently.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to deployment and maintenance.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, applying this knowledge to improve our development processes and tools.
• Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to help them grow their skills and advance their careers.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical discussions, helping to shape the future direction of our technology stack.
• Write comprehensive documentation for code, processes, and systems to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
• Engage in agile development practices, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to enhance team collaboration and productivity.
• Collaborate with QA teams to develop and execute test plans, ensuring that all software releases meet quality standards.
• Assist in the integration of third-party services and APIs to expand the capabilities of the Paga platform.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on backend technologies.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js, with a solid understanding of object-oriented design principles.
• Experience with web frameworks and technologies, including RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of database management systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases, and experience with data modeling and optimization.
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git, and experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• A proactive approach to learning and adapting to new technologies and methodologies.

Nice to have

• Experience in the fintech industry or with payment processing systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as React or Angular, enabling full-stack development capabilities.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, including containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Previous experience working in an agile development environment, with an understanding of Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio showcasing personal projects can be advantageous.
