As a Property Claims Adjuster on our Claims team, you will own the full journey of a property claim, ensuring that each interaction reflects our commitment to clarity, empathy, and integrity. You will leverage technology and your expertise to guide policyholders through challenging moments with confidence and care. What you'll do
Investigate and manage property claims end-to-end, from first notice of loss through final resolution and closure.
Analyze policy documents and coverage terms to determine liability, ensuring decisions are grounded in clear, factual review of the policy.
Examine claims details to identify subrogation potential and flag situations that may involve fraud or require further scrutiny.
Select the most suitable inspection approach, whether virtual, field-based, or through a third party, based on the specific circumstances of each claim.
Perform virtual inspections using video platforms, AI-assisted tools, and other technology to gather accurate information efficiently.
Generate precise property damage estimates using Cotality estimating software, following established standards and best practices.
Maintain comprehensive file records, including coverage letters, estimates, activity logs, and settlement documentation for audit and review purposes.
Update reserves diligently throughout the claim lifecycle to reflect the most current and accurate financial position.
Proactively communicate claim status and developments to policyholders, claimants, agents, and internal leadership with clarity and professionalism.
Negotiate settlements in a fair and composed manner, balancing empathy with sound judgment to reach mutually acceptable outcomes.
Stay available in phone queues to respond to customer inquiries quickly and to uphold a high level of service during every interaction.
Collaborate with vendor partners such as contractors, independent adjusters, and engineers to coordinate effective claim resolution.
Work alongside internal departments including SIU, Subrogation, Legal, and Underwriting to align on strategy and desired outcomes.
Contribute ideas and feedback aimed at improving workflows, accuracy, and efficiency across the claims process.
Support the team during catastrophe events or periods of elevated claim volume by adjusting schedules and availability as needed.
Help sustain a positive team dynamic by demonstrating accountability, continuous learning, and a commitment to shared goals.
Requirements
Bring a minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in property claims adjusting and customer service roles.
Show proficiency in writing estimates using Cotality, Xactimate, or similar estimating platforms based on objective data.
Demonstrate the ability to write estimates using information gathered from field inspections rather than relying solely on other adjusters' reports.
Hold active adjuster license(s) or maintain eligibility to obtain licenses in all required states without delay.
Maintain valid licensure as a condition of ongoing employment in all jurisdictions where claims are handled.
Consistently apply strong judgment and attention to detail when evaluating coverage, liability, and claim outcomes.
Approach each case with integrity, ensuring that decisions are transparent, ethical, and aligned with policy terms.
Communicate clearly and respectfully with policyholders, claimants, vendors, and internal stakeholders at every stage of the process.
Embrace collaboration by working effectively with cross-functional teams and supporting shared priorities for risk management and service excellence.

Practical notes
Work is remote across the United States, with flexibility to align with CST and PST time zone preferences.
This is a full-time, permanent position.
Occasional travel may be required for training, team meetings, or business needs.
