What you'll do
- Deliver advanced technical assistance to users, acting as a key resource for resolving intricate hardware and software issues.
- Take charge of technical challenges, providing support to junior team members and collaborating with other IT departments to find solutions.
- Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, including user accounts and access controls.
- Identify and implement enhancements to IT support processes for greater efficiency.
- Develop and update detailed documentation for IT systems and procedures, ensuring knowledge sharing within the team.
- Train and assist users and junior staff on best practices and software applications.
- Oversee the IT onboarding process for new employees, configuring their devices and addressing initial technical inquiries.
- Manage IT assets throughout their lifecycle, from procurement to disposal.
- Lead and coordinate small to medium-sized IT projects using appropriate project management tools.
- Support both macOS and Windows environments while staying informed about new technologies.
- Clearly communicate technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring mutual understanding.
Requirements
- Education: Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent certifications.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years in an IT support capacity.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python), no-code automation tools, and infrastructure as code technologies (e.g., Terraform).
Skills & tools
- Strong knowledge of hardware, software, and IT environments.
- Proven ability in advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Solid understanding of networking principles.
- Experience with managing IT infrastructure, including Okta and Google Workspace.
- Proficiency in both macOS and Windows systems.
- Capability to implement IT best practices and processes.
Practical notes
This position is remote, with a preference for candidates located in the Central, Mountain, or Eastern time zones. Applicants must have authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis, as this role does not offer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
