Compensation details are based on experience and location, with a salary range of $140,000 to $241,000 nationally. In Colorado specifically, the salary range is between $156,000 and $241,000. What you'll do

• Act as a technical leader and subject matter expert in wastewater treatment, providing strategic guidance and mentorship to project teams and junior engineers.
• Lead the design, review, and approval of wastewater treatment projects, ensuring technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and adherence to best practices.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers, and regulatory agencies to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
• Prepare and review technical reports, design documents, and permit applications to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance with all applicable standards.
• Stay current with emerging trends, innovative technologies, and regulatory changes in wastewater treatment to inform project strategies and improve service offerings.
• Represent the firm at industry conferences, technical seminars, and professional organizations, contributing to industry publications and thought leadership initiatives.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively to deliver projects on time and within scope.
• Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring quality control and risk management throughout project lifecycles.
• Foster strong relationships with clients and industry stakeholders to identify new business opportunities and expand the firm's presence in the water/wastewater market.
• Support business development efforts by providing technical expertise during proposal development and client presentations.
• Promote safety, environmental responsibility, and quality standards across all project activities, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other relevant regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required; a Master's degree in Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering is preferred.
• Must hold a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• A minimum of 12 years of experience in water and wastewater process engineering, with a proven track record of leading complex projects.
• Extensive knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, including biological treatment, filtration, disinfection, and sludge management.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks governing wastewater treatment, such as EPA standards and state-specific regulations.
• Demonstrated experience in mentoring, supervising, and leading engineering teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to technical challenges.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple projects effectively.
• Effective communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical information to clients, regulators, and team members.
