What you'll do
- Prepare comprehensive planning and design documents in your area of engineering expertise.
- Coordinate the work of assistant and associate professionals, as well as technical staff, and may supervise junior team members.
- Conduct process design calculations, create cost estimates, and perform economic analyses to evaluate alternative solutions.
- Develop detailed project scopes, schedules, and initiation paperwork, while managing budget reviews and progress reporting.
- Collaborate with other teams at Olsson to ensure seamless project coordination, directing team members on design tasks and maintaining accurate project records.
- Manage the preparation of technical reports, memos, and summaries to effectively communicate findings to clients and internal teams.
- Act as the project manager for various assignments, ensuring that deliverables meet client expectations and are completed on time and within budget.
- Work closely with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Assist in marketing and business development efforts by preparing project proposals and presentations.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET-accredited institution is essential.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in civil or environmental engineering, particularly in civil or environmental design, including solid waste facilities, environmental remediation, and mining reclamation.
- Must hold a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Strong communication skills are required, along with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities are essential for success in this role.
- Proficiency in engineering tools, software, and methodologies is necessary, with a strong working knowledge of Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
