Senior Solutions Engineer

About the role

In this role, you will function as a technical advisor for enterprise clients, assisting them in maximizing the benefits of our analytics platform. You will be the main technical liaison for the sales team, guiding potential clients through implementation strategies and conducting proof-of-concept initiatives to showcase our product's capabilities.

What you'll do

• Provide expert guidance to prospects on data architecture, instrumentation, governance, and achieving business objectives.
• Conduct technical assessments and deliver tailored product demonstrations to potential clients.
• Oversee the planning and execution of proof-of-concept projects to illustrate the value of our platform.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including Account Executives, Product, Engineering, and Support.
• Serve as a liaison between technical specifications and overarching business goals.
• Collect and analyze prospect feedback to inform and shape the product development roadmap.
• Contribute to revenue growth initiatives throughout the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) region.
• Facilitate workshops and training sessions to empower clients in utilizing our analytics tools effectively.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure ongoing satisfaction and engagement.
• Monitor industry trends and competitor offerings to provide insights that drive our strategic direction.
• Assist in creating technical documentation and resources that support the sales process.

Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) Sales Engineering or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated success in selling technical solutions to executive-level decision-makers within the Australian market.
• Strong skills in data querying, transformation, and modeling, with proficiency in tools such as Python, SQL, dbt, or business intelligence platforms.
• Familiarity with cloud data storage solutions and databases, including Snowflake, Databricks, Amazon Redshift, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical ideas to both technical teams and senior executives.
• Experience with artificial intelligence tools like Claude, Claude Code, or Gemini is a plus.
• Willingness to travel within the ANZ region and occasionally to other parts of the Asia-Pacific (APJ) region.
• Strong project management capabilities and effective presentation skills are essential.

Nice to have

• Experience with value engineering methodologies, including ROI calculators and discussions centered around key performance indicators (KPIs) for executives.
• Background in working with mid-market or enterprise technology companies in Australia.
• Knowledge of the ANZ partner ecosystem, including channel partners and system integrators.
• Previous exposure to sales-assisted conversion strategies or environments driven by product-led growth.
• Experience in rapidly growing SaaS organizations, particularly those in Series B to E funding stages or beyond.
• Prior experience working across broader APJ markets, such as Japan, Singapore, or New Zealand.

Skills & tools

• Proficiency in SQL, dbt, and Python
• Experience with cloud data platforms, including Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Microsoft Azure
• Familiarity with AI technologies, including Claude and Gemini
• Expertise in Sales Engineering and Technical Consulting
