About the role
You own the responsibility to maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers by strictly following all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. You will identify and communicate workplace hazards and take action to correct unsafe actions or conditions. In this role, you will perform general yard and property housekeeping, which includes sweeping, snow removal, and clearing walkways of slip and trip hazards. You will remove waste and other hazards from work areas to ensure a clean and organized environment. You will assist with equipment staging and yard moves, providing support for the spotting of trucks and heavy equipment as required.

What you'll do
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers. Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
- Perform general yard and property housekeeping, including sweeping, snow removal, clearing walkways of slip and trip hazards, and removing waste and other hazards from work areas.
- Assist with equipment staging and yard moves.
- Support the spotting for trucks and heavy equipment.
- Assist with organizing yard operations and meeting equipment needs as directed by the yard or shop foreman.
- Manually load and unload materials and assist with material restocking as required.
- Provide support with building maintenance and furniture assembly requests as needed.
- Perform Parts Runner duties.
- Assist with shipping and receiving duties as requested.
- Other duties as needed.
Requirements
- 3+ years of outdoor heavy labour experience; farmhand or industrial yard labourer experience is an asset but not required.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Experience operating a forklift and loader is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and through written communication (handwritten and digital).
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting to 50lbs.
- Must be able to work outside year-round in all weather conditions.
- Friendly attitude and strong team‑player mindset.
- Demonstrated personal commitment to safety.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team, with limited supervision when required.
