Why Meter
The internet runs the world. Every email you send, purchase you make, video call you join-it is all packets flowing through networks. Those networks have not changed for decades. They are brittle, complex, and surprisingly hard to set up in an enterprise space. We started Meter to build better networks. We had to build everything from the ground-up: designing and building our own enterprise hardware, intuitive software, and streamlined operations to deliver great outcomes for our customers. Today, we build and deploy these networks at scale. Ambitious companies and enduring institutions like Bridgewater, Lyft, Reddit, rely on Meter to keep their thousands of employees and locations online and productive. Our bet with Meter is simple: we will all use the internet more than we do today. We believe we have the definitive networking stack in place to enable business to do so as smoothly and reliably as any modern utility.
Compensation
The estimated pay range for this role is $130,000 - $190,000. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Meter's equity plan.
Practical notes
This role operates during standard business hours with occasional evening coordination across time zones. Limited business travel may occur for networking events or onsite interviews. Visa sponsorship details are not disclosed by the source material. By applying to this job you acknowledge that you have read and understood Meter's Job Applicant Privacy Notice.
About the team
You will own everything from mapping the market, to attracting and evaluating talent, to closing candidates. You will partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, design search-related collateral, and implement rigorous, reliable hiring practices. You will build and nurture strong relationships with candidates who are known for being the best at their craft, serving as Meter's expert on who is the right candidate to pursue for any given search. Great work happens through sheer perseverance and doing the basics really well, such as following up one more time to a prospect you have been pursuing, finding a way to get an introduction, or sending something personal to a candidate.
Success metrics
In this role, you will build the teams that build Meter's Data Center product line across hardware, firmware, software, and QA engineering. You will work closely with Meter's founders, engineering leadership, and existing recruiting team, leveraging successful processes that they have defined. Your goal is to continuously raise the bar with each hire you make. Within six months, you will have built a recruiting engine that consistently sources and closes exceptional hires who thrive at Meter. By the end of your first year, your success will be measured by the following. Hiring quality: Your hires' 6-month performance ratings consistently exceed or greatly exceed hiring manager expectations. You achieve 90 percent or higher new hire retention through year one with hiring managers consistently sharing they would enthusiastically rehire these colleagues. Hiring velocity: You will reduce time-to-hire by 20 percent from the current baseline, maintaining an 80 percent or higher offer acceptance rate.
