Hardware Program Manager

About the role

You will own the complete execution of hardware programs from initial concept through mass production launch at Meter. This role requires you to champion world-class hardware delivery by driving every milestone including EVT, DVT, and PVT with precision and consistency. You will bring clarity to complex hardware development challenges by translating intricate programs into clear, actionable timelines that balance speed, quality, and performance. Your work will directly shape the reliability and efficiency of how we introduce new hardware to market, helping the company scale its product portfolio while maintaining uncompromising customer standards. You will act as the central heartbeat of each program, uniting cross-functional stakeholders and JDM partners around shared objectives and decisive action. Success in this position means you proactively identify risks, evaluate tradeoffs early, and remove blockers to protect schedule, cost, and peak performance. You will take immense pride in shipping the most advanced networking hardware by ensuring nothing falls through the cracks across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain.

What you'll do

• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of hardware programs, driving execution from initial concept through EVT, DVT, PVT, and flawless mass production launch.
• Act as the primary technical voice for JDM partners, collaborating closely on system architecture, requirements, and build schedule commitments.
• Lead program reviews that emphasize proactive problem-solving, surfacing risks early, and clearing blockers to keep the team aligned and moving forward.
• Translate complex hardware development challenges into clear, actionable timelines that balance speed, quality, and performance for cross-functional teams.
• Champion a culture of ownership across firmware, mechanical, supply chain, and operations teams to ensure swift, high-impact decision-making.
• Dive into the details during schematic reviews, component decisions, and validation planning to ensure robust and innovative hardware design.
• Sync closely with operations to coordinate supply chain, manufacturing readiness, and seamless scale-up for new hardware products.
• Travel to Taiwan to work in person with world-class manufacturing and design teams, turning concepts on paper or screen into physical reality.
• Maintain meticulous organization and attention to detail while tracking multiple workstreams and ensuring programs meet every milestone.
• Provide leadership and clarity in a fast-paced environment, balancing competing priorities without compromising on quality or performance goals.

Requirements

• You take an incredible amount of pride in doing great work and building lasting hardware that customers depend on.
• You hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• You are comfortable reading schematics and understanding PCB layout fundamentals to engage in system architecture discussions and tradeoffs.
• You possess a solid understanding of the hardware development process, including design, bring-up, validation, and manufacturing stages.
• You are highly organized and detail-oriented, able to track multiple workstreams and keep programs moving forward under tight constraints.
• You take ownership of your work and proactively follow through on open issues, risks, and dependencies to ensure successful program execution.
• You are comfortable working with external partners and managing relationships across distributed teams and manufacturing environments.
• You thrive in collaborative settings where clear communication, structured planning, and rigorous follow-through are essential to success.

Nice to have

• Experience coordinating hardware programs that involve JDM partnerships and multi-site execution.
• Familiarity with networking hardware development cycles and high-volume manufacturing processes.
• Exposure to operational orchestration across supply chain, deployment, and quality assurance functions.

Practical notes

• Global travel is required to collaborate with manufacturing and design teams in Taiwan.
• This role demands full-time engagement with the flexibility to handle occasional late-night reviews during critical build milestones.
