Commercial Counsel
Job description
About the role
The will own the full commercial motion of the business, translating the company's ambitious mission into executed agreements that generate revenue and de-risk growth. You will close the material contracts that fund Meter's hardware build, secure the right to install across building portfolios, and ensure that SLAs and service commitments are reflected in durable legal structures. This role demands a dealmaker who understands that Meter sells hardware, software, connectivity, and real estate, and who can structure transactions to reflect that complexity without losing speed. You will partner with Sales, Finance, Engineering, and Deployment to align contract terms with product capabilities, customer promises, and operational reality. The successful candidate brings enterprise legal experience to a high-growth environment, making independent, high-quality decisions while protecting the company's commercial interests. You will not only execute today's deals but also architect the legal foundation that allows Meter to scale globally. This is a founding role that shapes the commercial legal function from the ground up, defining templates, playbooks, and processes for years to come.
