About the role

We are seeking a Senior Consultant specializing in Investigations and Litigation to join our Forensic, Compliance, and Litigation team within the Financial Advisory department at Mazars. This role is in addressing complex financial disputes and compliance challenges faced by our clients, which range from medium-sized enterprises to large multinational corporations. The successful candidate will engage directly with legal departments, attorneys, and regulatory authorities, contributing to sensitive financial matters and investigations.

What you'll do

• Conduct thorough analyses of financial and accounting data, reviewing documents and emails to gather evidence for investigations.
• Prepare and execute interviews as part of the investigative process, ensuring all relevant information is captured accurately.
• Assess damages in the context of litigation and expert evaluations, utilizing financial and accounting analyses to support claims.
• Develop financial models to understand the economic context and operational characteristics of the cases handled.
• Create comprehensive investigation and financial expertise reports, including the preparation of necessary documentation and appendices.
• Present findings and conclusions to clients, ensuring clarity and thorough understanding of the results.
• Participate in the business development of the Forensic practice by drafting commercial proposals and contributing to publications.
• Respond to tenders and proposals, showcasing our expertise and capabilities in forensic investigations and compliance matters.
• Depending on project requirements, you may also engage in compliance-related tasks, assisting clients in developing compliance programs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a approach to investigations and litigation support.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in forensic investigations and compliance.

Requirements

• A master's degree (Bac+5) in engineering, business, or a related field, with a focus on accounting or finance.
• A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in investigations or litigation support.
• Strong analytical skills, particularly in financial and accounting contexts, along with excellent writing abilities.
• Relevant certifications such as DSCG or DEC are advantageous.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
• Desired qualities include analytical thinking, attention to detail, curiosity, initiative, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in English is essential, and knowledge of additional languages is a bonus.
• Experience with AI tools and data analytics software is considered beneficial.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in a consulting firm or financial advisory role.
• Knowledge of international compliance regulations such as the UK Bribery Act (UKBA) or the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).
• Familiarity with forensic accounting techniques and methodologies.
• Experience in preparing expert witness reports or participating in legal proceedings.
• Strong networking skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools.
• Experience with forensic investigation software and tools.
• Knowledge of financial modeling and valuation techniques.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for effective client engagement.
