About the role

Mazars is looking for a Senior Consultant to join their advisory team specializing in technology risk and IT due diligence for mergers and acquisitions engagements. In this position, you will guide clients through the technology-related dimensions of deal-making, helping them understand the risks and opportunities embedded in target companies' IT environments. You will work alongside deal teams, financial advisors, and business leaders to ensure that technology considerations are properly evaluated and factored into transaction decisions. The role is based in Levallois-Perret and requires a full-time commitment to supporting a dynamic portfolio of M&A projects.

What you'll do

Conduct thorough technology risk assessments for companies involved in mergers and acquisitions across a range of industries and deal sizes

Perform detailed IT due diligence reviews to identify liabilities, technical debt, and integration challenges that could affect deal value

Evaluate the cybersecurity posture and data governance practices of target organizations before transactions reach final closure

Prepare comprehensive reports that summarize technology risks, strategic opportunities, and recommended mitigation approaches for client decision-makers

Work alongside financial analysts and legal advisors to structure deal terms that properly account for technology-related factors and exposures

Advise senior management on technology risks and their potential impact on overall transaction value and post-deal integration success

Support the design and execution of post-merger integration plans for IT systems, applications, and technology platforms

Perform gap analyses between current and target-state technology environments to inform deal negotiations and integration timelines

Coordinate with external auditors and technical specialists to validate findings, challenge assumptions, and ensure the quality of deliverables

Present risk assessment results and recommendations to client leadership and internal deal teams using clear, structured, and actionable formats

Requirements

A minimum of five years of professional experience in technology risk advisory, IT due diligence, or a closely related consulting discipline

A solid understanding of M&A processes, deal structures, and the strategic role that technology plays in transaction value creation

A demonstrated ability to manage several workstreams at once in a fast-paced deal environment with shifting priorities and tight timelines

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to explain complex technical subjects to audiences without a technical background

Proficiency in evaluating enterprise IT architectures, infrastructure setups, and application landscapes to identify risks and areas for improvement

Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams drawn from different business units and, where relevant, across multiple geographic regions

A university degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or another related technical field

A willingness to travel to client sites as needed to carry out on-site assessments, attend meetings, and gather first-hand information

Nice to have

Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CRISC, or an equivalent credential in information security or enterprise risk management

Prior experience working within a Big Four firm or a comparable global professional services organization

Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, SaaS delivery models, and modern software development and deployment practices

Knowledge of regulatory frameworks that affect technology and data, including GDPR and sector-specific compliance requirements

Skills & tools

Advanced knowledge of IT risk frameworks and assessment methodologies commonly applied in due diligence and transaction contexts

Experience with data analysis tools and spreadsheet modeling to quantify technology-related financial impacts and support deal recommendations

Familiarity with enterprise architecture tools, systems integration concepts, and the challenges of merging disparate technology environments

Strong analytical thinking with the ability to synthesize large volumes of technical and financial information into clear strategic insights

Project management capabilities including setting timelines, tracking milestones, managing resources, and delivering work products on schedule

Comfort operating in ambiguous situations and making sound, well-reasoned judgments when working under tight deadlines and pressure

Practical notes

This is a full-time position based in our Levallois-Perret office, with regular interaction with colleagues across the wider Mazars network in France and in international offices

Candidates should expect a combination of office-based work and client-site visits, with travel requirements that fluctuate depending on the active deal pipeline

The role includes direct client contact starting from the early stages of engagement and continuing through deal close and into post-transaction integration support
