About the role
As a Manager at Forvis Mazars, you will play a critical role in overseeing non-regulated business risks while collaborating closely with operational teams throughout the lifecycle of client engagements. Reporting directly to the team director, you will ensure that client engagement risks are effectively managed and contribute to the secure growth of the business. This position requires an experienced professional who can navigate complex risk landscapes, offering strategic insights and solutions to mitigate potential challenges.

What you'll do
- Evaluate commercial opportunities submitted by operational teams to assess associated risks.
- Identify key risk factors, including client reputation, mission complexity, independence issues, and contractual obligations.
- Challenge operational teams on the appropriateness of the opportunities presented and the level of risk they are willing to accept.
- Recommend tailored risk mitigation measures to address identified concerns.
- Assist teams in structuring proposals, defining scopes and deliverables, and integrating risk requirements into client offerings.
- Participate in acceptance committees to ensure that risk considerations are adequately addressed.
- Raise awareness among teams about the implications of risk management in their operations.
- Support teams in evaluating risks associated with their missions and determine overall risk levels.
- Ensure that all necessary validations are obtained and document decisions along with their traceability.
- Monitor risks throughout the mission, identifying early warning signs such as scope deviations, client tensions, and potential legal or reputational risks.
- Challenge teams on corrective actions and update risk levels when necessary.
- Engage in key meetings if the risk level is deemed high.
- Conduct post-mission reviews to analyze incidents, difficulties encountered, and deviations from initial expectations.
- Capture lessons learned to enhance future processes and practices.
- Identify areas for improvement in processes, contracts, and operational practices.
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the risk management framework.
- Oversee disputes and conduct an annual review of the portfolio to ensure effective risk management.
Requirements
- A Master's degree (Bac+5) from a business school or university.
- A minimum of 7 years of successful experience in an audit firm, consulting, or in a risk management function within a corporate environment.
- A pragmatic approach to understanding business challenges and associated risks.
- Strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written communication skills, with a proven ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
- Analytical and synthetic thinking capabilities, coupled with intellectual curiosity and responsiveness.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to lead high-level discussions and negotiations with clients and partners.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, as most interactions will occur in this language.
Nice to have
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams and projects.
- Familiarity with regulatory environments and compliance issues relevant to non-regulated sectors.
- Previous involvement in business development or client relationship management.
- Knowledge of risk assessment tools and methodologies.
- Certification in risk management or related fields.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations.
