The Intake Clinical Counsellor will play a central role in connecting members with the right care through Lyra Empower, the only fully integrated, AI-powered platform combining the highest-quality care and technology solutions, and this position is based in Mumbai with direct member engagement during the initial intake process.

What you'll do
Conduct initial clinical assessments to understand each member's mental health needs and concerns thoroughly.
Guide members through the intake process with empathy and professional clinical judgment at every step.
Match members to appropriate therapists and care providers based on their presenting issues and preferences.
Document all intake interactions accurately within the Lyra Empower platform and internal record keeping systems.
Collaborate with the care team to ensure timely and effective member referrals without unnecessary delays.
Maintain confidentiality and follow all ethical standards governing clinical intake procedures and member privacy.
Provide supportive phone or video conversations during the first point of contact with each member.
Monitor wait times and work actively to reduce barriers to accessing mental health care services.
Apply clinical knowledge to triage members and prioritise those in acute distress or crisis.
Contribute to quality improvement by sharing feedback on the intake experience and overall outcomes.
Participate in regular team meetings to discuss member progress and share insights about the intake process.
Stay current with developments in mental health care and apply new knowledge to improve the intake experience.
Requirements
Hold a master's degree in counselling, psychology, social work, or a related clinical field from an accredited institution.
Possess a minimum of two years of hands-on experience in a clinical intake or assessment setting.
Maintain active professional licensure or registration as a counsellor or therapist in India at the time of hire.
Demonstrate strong verbal communication skills and the ability to build rapport with members quickly and effectively.
Show proficiency in conducting structured clinical interviews and completing standardised risk assessments with accuracy.
Have experience working with diverse populations across a range of presenting mental health concerns and conditions.
Understand the principles of evidence-based care and how they apply to making sound intake decisions.
Be comfortable using digital platforms and electronic health record systems for thorough and consistent documentation.
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability when managing a high volume of intake calls and member inquiries daily.
Bring a genuine commitment to improving access to mental health care for all members and communities.
Nice to have
Familiarity with AI-driven care platforms and digital mental health tools is a strong plus for this role.
Prior experience supporting employer-sponsored mental health programmes or employee assistance services in a corporate environment.
Training or certification in trauma-informed care or cognitive behavioural therapy approaches is welcomed and valued.
Bilingual abilities, particularly in Hindi and English, to serve a diverse and growing member base.
