About the role
You will architect and execute the end to end credit control workflow for Lyra's expanding portfolio across the South African market. You will serve as the primary financial safeguard, ensuring that all client engagements remain within formally agreed credit boundaries. You will interpret complex policy documentation and translate it into actionable steps for both internal stakeholders and external clients. You will own the full receivables cycle, from initial onboarding validation through to final payment reconciliation and dispute resolution. You will act as the key escalation point for any credit related risks, applying rigorous controls to protect company revenue. You will maintain meticulous records that provide complete auditability for every transaction and customer interaction. You will collaborate closely with sales, implementation, and support teams to align credit decisions with commercial objectives and client success. You will continuously monitor portfolio health, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions that reduce days sales outstanding and bad debt exposure.

What you'll do
Perform comprehensive creditworthiness assessments on all new and existing clients before activation of services.
Establish and maintain robust credit limit frameworks, defining explicit thresholds and approval matrices for all customer segments.
Execute proactive monitoring of customer payment behavior, flagging early warning signals of potential financial distress or insolvency.
Initiate and lead structured collection activities, deploying graduated communication strategies for accounts approaching or in arrears.
Own the end to end resolution of disputes, reconciling invoices, payments, and adjustments with precision and strict adherence to timelines.
Collaborate with the finance team to forecast cash flow impact based on outstanding receivables and historical collection patterns.
Implement and control credit note issuance processes, ensuring all adjustments are properly authorized, documented, and reflected in financial systems.
Manage interactions with internal stakeholders, including sales, implementation, and support, to resolve issues without compromising credit policy.
Maintain detailed audit trails for every credit decision, escalation, and collection action to ensure full regulatory and internal compliance.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at streamlining credit workflows, enhancing system controls, and reducing administrative inefficiencies.
Perform regular portfolio reviews, categorizing risk exposure and recommending strategic actions to senior management.
Ensure strict compliance with company credit policies, legal requirements, and contractual terms governing customer agreements.
Leverage data analytics to identify trends, prioritize high risk accounts, and optimize resource allocation for maximum recovery efficiency.
Act as the central coordination point for cross functional credit risk mitigation, aligning policy enforcement with business growth goals.
Requirements
You possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related quantitative field.
You hold a recognized professional accounting qualification, such as CA(SA), ACCA, or CIMA, which demonstrates advanced technical proficiency.
You bring a minimum of five years of progressive experience in credit control, financial services, or a related revenue management role.
You have a proven track record of managing complex receivables cycles and mitigating credit risk within a B2B environment.
You are highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, utilizing advanced functions, pivot tables, and data validation to manage financial workflows.
You have substantial experience working with enterprise level financial systems and CRM platforms for recording and tracking customer transactions.
You possess an in depth understanding of accounting principles, including ledger management, reconciliation, and financial reporting standards.
You have a strong history of collaborating with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to contractual and regulatory obligations.

Monday to Friday (5 working days) from 8am to 5pm
While this is a full time Monday to Friday, standard business hours position, the nature of the work requires a degree of flexibility. The individual should be prepared to occasionally support meetings outside of standard working hours, given the global scope of the team.

While working off site remotely, the individual is expected to have reliable backup power supply and a strong stable Wi-Fi connection as these are essential requirements for effectively performing in a remote capacity.
