What you'll do

• Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams on water resource projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation, to meet client expectations and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct detailed hydrological and hydraulic analyses to inform project design and decision-making processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and private clients, to gather input and ensure project alignment with community needs.
• Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and presentations to clients and stakeholders, effectively communicating complex information in an accessible manner.
• Oversee the preparation of engineering designs, specifications, and construction documents for water resource projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Manage project budgets, tracking expenditures, and implementing cost-control measures to ensure financial sustainability.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and project staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to water resources management, integrating best practices into project workflows.
• Facilitate project meetings, ensuring clear communication among team members and stakeholders, and addressing any issues that arise promptly.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Contribute to business development efforts by identifying new opportunities, preparing proposals, and participating in client outreach initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in water resources engineering, with a focus on project management.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required; additional certifications in project management (PMP) are a plus.
• Proven experience in managing complex water resource projects from conception through execution.
• Strong knowledge of hydrological modeling software and tools, such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, or similar applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project or similar applications.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and permitting processes related to water resources projects.

Nice to have

• Experience with sustainable design practices and green infrastructure solutions.
• Knowledge of water quality assessment and management practices.
• Familiarity with GIS software and its application in water resource projects.
• Previous experience working in California or similar regulatory environments.
• Bilingual skills are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.
