What you'll do

Design and implement water resource management strategies that align with local and state regulations, ensuring sustainable practices are prioritized.
Conduct hydrological modeling and analysis to assess water availability and demand, using advanced software tools to simulate various scenarios.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including environmental scientists, urban planners, and civil engineers, to develop integrated water management solutions.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including government agencies and community organizations.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing water systems, identifying areas for improvement and proposing necessary upgrades or modifications.
Engage with local communities to educate and raise awareness about water conservation practices and the importance of sustainable water management.
Participate in the development of grant proposals and funding applications to support innovative water projects and research initiatives.
Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in water resources engineering, incorporating best practices into project work to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Assist in the preparation of technical specifications and contract documents for water infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Conduct field investigations and site assessments to gather data and evaluate conditions that impact water resources and infrastructure.
Collaborate with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with environmental laws and standards, facilitating necessary permits and approvals for projects.
Contribute to the development of strategic plans for water resource management that align with the company's mission and goals.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in water resources engineering or a closely related discipline.
Proficiency in hydrological modeling software (e.g., HEC-HMS, SWMM) and GIS applications for spatial analysis.
Strong understanding of water quality regulations and environmental policies at the local, state, and federal levels.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in presenting technical information to diverse audiences.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice to have

Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
Experience with water conservation programs and sustainable water management practices.
Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
Knowledge of climate change impacts on water resources and adaptation strategies.
Experience in stakeholder engagement and community outreach initiatives.
