What you'll do
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments of clients to identify dietary needs and preferences.
- Develop tailored meal plans that align with individual health goals, dietary restrictions, and lifestyle choices.
- Provide one-on-one counseling sessions to educate clients about nutrition, healthy eating habits, and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including doctors and nurses, to create integrated care plans for clients.
- Monitor and evaluate client progress, adjusting dietary plans as necessary to ensure optimal health outcomes.
- Lead workshops and group sessions on various nutrition topics to promote community health and wellness.
- Stay updated on the latest research in nutrition and dietary guidelines to provide evidence-based recommendations.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, assessments, and progress in compliance with organizational policies.
- Advocate for nutritional health within the community by participating in outreach programs and health fairs.
- Assist in the development of educational materials and resources for clients and the community.
- Provide support and guidance to clients navigating food-related challenges, including allergies and intolerances.
- Engage in continuous professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of dietetics.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical or community nutrition setting.
- Strong understanding of dietary guidelines, food science, and nutrition-related health issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey nutritional information.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Proficient in using nutrition analysis software and electronic health record systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients and priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of cultural competency in nutrition and the ability to work with diverse populations.
Nice to have
- Master's degree in Nutrition or a related field.
- Certification in a specialized area of dietetics, such as sports nutrition or pediatric nutrition.
- Experience in public speaking or conducting workshops on nutrition topics.
