What you'll do

• Conduct thorough assessments of our current security posture, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending appropriate remediation strategies.
• Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Monitor network traffic and security alerts to detect and respond to potential threats in real-time, utilizing advanced security tools and technologies.
• Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle, ensuring that security is a priority from the outset.
• Lead incident response efforts, coordinating with relevant stakeholders to investigate and resolve security breaches or incidents effectively.
• Provide training and awareness programs for employees to promote a culture of security and ensure adherence to security protocols.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies, and share knowledge with the team to enhance overall security awareness.
• Participate in security audits and assessments, working with external auditors to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to security policies, procedures, and incident response plans.
• Assist in the evaluation and selection of security tools and technologies to enhance our security infrastructure.
• Collaborate with third-party vendors to assess their security practices and ensure they align with our organization's security standards.
• Prepare and present reports on security incidents, vulnerabilities, and compliance status to senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity or information security roles.
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS.
• Proficiency in security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection solutions.
• Experience with vulnerability assessment tools and methodologies, as well as penetration testing.
• Familiarity with incident response processes and tools, including SIEM solutions.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are highly desirable.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud security practices and technologies, particularly in AWS or Azure environments.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and application security testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations such as GDPR or CCPA.
• Previous experience in a consulting role or working with multiple clients in a cybersecurity capacity.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in using security tools such as Wireshark, Nessus, and Metasploit.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ for automation and scripting tasks.
• Experience with security incident management tools and ticketing systems.
• Knowledge of network architecture and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, and VPN technologies.
