What you'll do

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of athletes' physical conditions to identify any injuries or potential risks.
• Develop and implement tailored rehabilitation programs for injured athletes, ensuring a safe and effective recovery process.
• Collaborate with coaches, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to create a cohesive approach to athlete health and performance.
• Provide immediate care for injuries that occur during training or competition, utilizing appropriate first aid techniques.
• Educate athletes on injury prevention strategies, including proper warm-up and cool-down routines, stretching, and conditioning exercises.
• Maintain accurate records of athlete injuries, treatments, and progress to ensure continuity of care and compliance with regulations.
• Stay updated on the latest research and advancements in sports medicine to provide the best care possible.
• Organize and lead workshops or seminars on topics related to athletic training, nutrition, and wellness for athletes and staff.
• Monitor the physical condition of athletes during practice and competitions, making adjustments to training regimens as necessary.
• Assist in the development of emergency action plans for athletic events, ensuring the safety of all participants.
• Foster a positive and motivating environment that encourages athletes to achieve their personal and team goals.
• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in athletic training and sports health.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Certification from the Board of Certification (BOC) for the Athletic Trainer.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience working as an Athletic Trainer, preferably in a sports or military environment.
• Strong knowledge of injury prevention, assessment, and rehabilitation techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with athletes, coaches, and medical personnel.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate training schedules and events.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems for documentation and reporting.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in athletic training.

Nice to have

• Experience working with military personnel or in a military setting.
• Advanced certifications in specialized areas of athletic training, such as strength and conditioning or sports nutrition.
• Familiarity with sports performance technology and data analysis tools.
• Bilingual abilities to communicate with a diverse athlete population.
• Previous experience in a leadership role or mentoring junior athletic trainers.
