Supply Ops Manager (ride hailing
Job description
Supply Ops Manager (ride hailing) at Lalamove.
About the role
Lalamove is looking for a Supply Ops Manager who understands that supply is the business. This role goes far beyond keeping daily operations running; it is about designing and building the engine that powers driver availability across the platform. If you have experience shaping driver supply at scale in ride-hailing, mobility, last-mile delivery, logistics, or marketplace platforms, this position will let you apply that expertise in a fast-growing delivery marketplace operating throughout Mexico City. You will own the strategy for ensuring enough drivers are available to meet demand in one of the largest urban markets in Latin America, working closely with operations teams to turn supply planning into a measurable competitive advantage. Your work will directly impact the reliability of every ride and delivery, making supply operations a core pillar of the business.
Key facts
What you'll do
Design and implement driver supply strategies tailored to the Mexico City market and its unique demand patterns.
Analyze historical ride and delivery data to forecast driver shortages and surpluses before they impact service quality.
Build and manage a driver acquisition pipeline that brings new qualified drivers into the platform on a consistent basis.
Optimize driver retention by identifying churn risks early and designing targeted interventions that keep supply levels stable.
Coordinate with city operations teams to align supply plans with promotional campaigns and seasonal demand fluctuations.
Monitor real-time supply-demand gaps and activate contingency plans when driver availability falls below established thresholds.
Partner with marketing and incentives teams to structure driver rewards programs that balance cost efficiency with coverage goals.
Develop dashboards and reporting frameworks that give leadership clear visibility into supply health and performance metrics.
Lead cross-functional projects that improve the end-to-end driver onboarding and activation experience from first contact to go-live.
Evaluate new neighborhoods and zones for supply expansion, recommending where to invest driver recruitment and retention resources.
Collaborate with finance and budgeting teams to manage driver acquisition costs and ensure supply spend stays within targets.
Conduct regular supply reviews with regional leadership, presenting findings and recommending adjustments to maintain service reliability.
Requirements
Proven track record of building, scaling, or optimizing driver supply in ride-hailing, mobility, last-mile delivery, logistics, or marketplace platforms.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets and translate insights into actionable supply decisions.
Experience managing a team or leading cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Deep understanding of supply-demand dynamics in dense urban markets, particularly in Latin America or emerging economies.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and spreadsheets to build forecasts, track KPIs, and report on supply performance.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in operations, supply planning, or a related field within platform businesses.
Willingness to work on-site in Mexico City as part of a full-time, presencial arrangement.
Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity and make decisions in a rapidly changing operational environment.
Comfort with hands-on involvement in operational processes while also developing scalable systems and playbooks for the team.
Nice to have
Prior experience working at a delivery or mobility platform operating in Latin America or Mexico specifically.
Familiarity with incentive design and driver compensation structures that drive both acquisition and long-term retention.
Knowledge of geospatial analysis tools or route optimization concepts that inform supply zone planning and allocation.
Experience building and maintaining relationships with driver communities or driver-facing organizations to strengthen supply pipelines.
Background in marketplace or two-sided platform economics, with an understanding of how supply affects both sides of the market.
Fluent in Spanish and English, with the ability to communicate effectively across operations and business teams.
