Senior Front End Engineer
Job description
About the role
Senior Front End Engineer
Kavak leads the transformation of the used car industry in Latin America through a business model driven by artificial intelligence. As the first unicorn company in Mexico, we operate across multiple countries, processing millions of user interactions daily. Our recent USD 300 million funding round, led by Andreessen Horowitz, accelerates our mission to build intelligent products that define the future of mobility in the region. We are expanding our team to accelerate our product roadmap and deepen our AI capabilities.
In this role, you will own the user interface for critical flows across our LatAm markets. You will transform AI concepts into robust, production-grade interfaces that shape the daily experience for both clients and operators. Your work will balance clarity, performance, and safety as features progress through development stages.
Deliver Impact
You will prioritize initiatives that generate measurable business outcomes. You demonstrate a history of delivering technical results and use data and technology to validate your contributions. You set the quality standard for your work and expect excellence from yourself and your peers.
Engage Fast
You solve problems and act on opportunities with urgency. You make timely decisions, advance work in short cycles, and adapt plans based on feedback without sacrificing quality. You understand that speed and execution are competitive advantages.
Engage with Purpose
You operate with extreme ownership, accepting full responsibility for your results and decisions. You align your choices with Kavak's strategic vision and purpose. You understand how your work contributes to the larger organizational goals.
Play to Win Together
You prioritize team and company outcomes over personal recognition. You collaborate openly, share knowledge, and contribute to a culture where collective success is the standard.
What You Will Do
You will design modular front-end components that integrate seamlessly with AI services and comply with regional regulations across Latin America. You will refactor legacy views into efficient, reusable components, improving responsiveness and maintainability for high-traffic scenarios. You will collaborate with analytics partners to instrument user interactions, capturing intent while preserving a frictionless experience.
You will establish stable integration points with back-end systems, validating data structures and error states early in the cycle. You will champion accessibility and internationalization standards to ensure our interfaces serve diverse audiences and languages. You will optimize loading strategies and asset delivery to maintain performance across varied network conditions common in the region.
You will guide teammates on interface standards, aligning technical decisions with product goals and engineering constraints. You will partner with designers to translate concepts into implementations that respect layout rules and brand integrity. You will verify releases through checks and monitoring, confirming that behavior matches expectations in production environments. You will maintain documentation for patterns and decisions, enabling new contributors to understand context quickly.
What You Need
You must have a minimum of three years of professional experience in interface development. You must demonstrate proficiency in JavaScript and modern frameworks for complex applications. You must understand version control workflows and branching strategies to support collaborative delivery.
You must have knowledge of browser rendering behaviors and methods for debugging performance issues. You need experience consuming REST and GraphQL APIs in production settings. You should be comfortable working with design systems and token-based design approaches.
Additional Value
Experience with automotive listings or marketplace domains is a distinct advantage.

Your daily toolkit will include React, Redux, TypeScript, Vercel, Storybook, Jest, Cypress, Git, GitHub, and Figma.
