About the role
At Cambio, we are building the definitive software platform for world-class real estate decarbonization. Our mission is to empower commercial real estate owners and tenants to bring their portfolios to net-zero using a machine learning-driven, end-to-end sustainability platform. As we scale, we are seeking a Frontend Engineer who will own the end-to-end implementation of user-facing features. You will translate complex product requirements into resilient frontend architectures that balance performance with usability. You will partner daily with product, design, and backend teams to ensure UI behavior aligns with business and climate data workflows. You will advocate for accessibility, maintainability, and long-term code health in every component you ship. You will instrument and refine the user journey to support mission-critical decision-making for commercial real estate operators. You will contribute to a scalable frontend framework that supports rapid experimentation across our portfolio. You will help define and enforce engineering standards that enable sustainable growth of our product suite.

What you'll do
- Collaborate with product and design to translate business requirements into technical specifications and test plans.
- Architect and implement responsive user interfaces using modern frontend patterns and type-safe practices.
- Build reusable components and libraries that accelerate feature delivery across multiple product modules.
- Integrate tightly with backend APIs to ensure robust data flow, error handling, and loading states.
- Optimize application performance for large datasets common in real estate portfolio analytics.
- Write and maintain comprehensive automated test suites to validate functionality and prevent regressions.
- Debug complex issues in production environments using structured analysis and creative problem-solving.
- Evaluate emerging tools and frameworks to drive a 50% improvement in frontend code quality and maintainability.
- Mentor junior engineers on best practices around React, testing, and user experience principles.
- Coordinate release planning and contribute to roadmap discussions that impact decarbonization outcomes.
- Ensure all delivered features comply with accessibility standards and internationalization needs.
- Monitor application health and implement observability strategies for proactive issue detection.
- Partner with data teams to visualize climate and energy metrics in clear, actionable dashboards.
- Support our infrastructure goals by writing efficient, secure, and maintainable frontend code.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrate 2-3+ years of professional software engineering experience in a production environment.
- Show advanced proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript ecosystems.
- Have hands-on experience with ReactJS, VueJS, or similar component-based frameworks.
- Understand server-side rendering and static generation concepts as they apply to SEO and performance.
- Grasp computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis.
- Exhibit strong debugging skills and the ability to isolate issues in distributed systems.
- Embrace the YAGNI principle and make thoughtful technical trade-offs under constraints.
- Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively in a fully remote or hybrid team setting.
- Thrive in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and code quality.
- Commit to writing clean, maintainable code that supports long-term product evolution.
- Respect inclusive design principles and consider accessibility in all user interactions.

Nice to have
- Experience with Next.js, Recharts, and modern frontend tooling.
- Background in climate, sustainability, or commercial real estate domains.
- Familiarity with AWS and infrastructure-as-code practices.
