What you'll do
- Clearly articulate the features, benefits, and value propositions of IXL and Rosetta Stone products to prospective clients, including school districts, administrators, and educators.
- Develop a deep understanding of each customer's specific needs, challenges, and goals to provide tailored product demonstrations and solutions.
- Consistently meet or exceed assigned sales targets through strategic prospecting, presentations, and follow-up activities.
- Innovate and implement new sales strategies and approaches to reach potential clients effectively and efficiently.
- Stay informed about current trends in educational technology, curriculum standards, and the K-12 market to better serve clients and position our products competitively.
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales process, ensuring a positive experience that fosters trust and long-term relationships.
- Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform product development and improve the overall customer experience.
- Represent IXL Learning at national and regional educational technology conferences, trade shows, and other industry events to promote our products and brand.
- Travel approximately 75-80% of the time, including overnight trips, to meet with clients in schools, districts, and educational organizations across the assigned territory.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing and product development, to share insights from the field and contribute to strategic planning.
- Maintain detailed records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline status using CRM tools to ensure accurate forecasting and reporting.
- Provide training and support to educators and administrators on how to effectively utilize our products to enhance teaching and learning.
- Assist in developing proposals, quotes, and contracts tailored to each client's needs and budget.
- Follow up with clients post-sale to ensure satisfaction, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for upselling or renewal.
- Stay current on competitive products and market conditions to effectively position our offerings and respond to client inquiries.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in educational sales, preferably with K-12 products or services.
- Prior classroom experience or familiarity with educational settings is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of web-based technologies and digital learning tools.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Ability to work independently, manage a large territory, and prioritize effectively.
- Demonstrated success in building relationships with educators, administrators, and other stakeholders.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the assigned region, including overnight trips.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and adaptable to changing market conditions.
- Experience using CRM systems and sales enablement tools.
- Enthusiasm for integrating technology into educational practices and a passion for improving student outcomes.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Practical notes
The salary for this position ranges from $75,000 to $90,000, depending on experience, skills, and education. In addition to base salary, compensation includes commissions based on sales performance. Benefits are provided, and total compensation is designed to reward achievement and dedication. Pay is determined by factors such as location, skills, experience, and education. This role involves significant travel, with approximately 75-80% of work time spent on the road visiting clients in schools and districts across the territory. Overnight travel may be required, and candidates should be prepared for frequent in-person meetings. The position is based in Las Vegas, NV, and requires on-site presence at client locations.
