About the role
IXL Learning is actively seeking a dedicated Curriculum Sales Consultant to join our sales team in Philadelphia. This position offers an exciting opportunity to promote and expand the reach of our innovative new core curriculum program, Takeoff by IXL, which is designed to support K-12 mathematics education. As a key member of the sales team, you will work closely with educators, school districts, and educational leaders to facilitate curriculum adoption, provide product demonstrations, and build lasting relationships that foster educational success. Your role will involve engaging with clients at various levels, understanding their needs, and guiding them through the process of integrating our curriculum solutions into their classrooms and districts. This is a dynamic on-site position based in Philadelphia, requiring travel within the region to meet with clients, conduct presentations, and support curriculum implementation efforts.

What you'll do
- Present and demonstrate the features and benefits of the new math core curriculum program, Takeoff by IXL, to a diverse range of potential and existing clients, including school administrators, district leaders, and teachers.
- Collaborate closely with K-12 field sales management and representatives to develop strategic plans for promoting and implementing IXL's core curriculum math program within your designated geographic area.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with educators, district officials, and other stakeholders to facilitate curriculum adoption and ongoing support.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of customer needs and challenges to tailor your sales approach and support during the entire sales cycle, from initial contact through to product adoption and implementation.
- Use your market insights, educational knowledge, and product expertise to identify opportunities for growth and to drive sales initiatives effectively.
- Conduct engaging and impactful presentations, workshops, and product demonstrations for educators, school administrators, and district decision-makers, highlighting how IXL's curriculum solutions align with their educational goals.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of all IXL products, including updates and new features, to ensure you can provide accurate information and support to clients.
- Stay informed about current trends in education, curriculum standards, and market developments to better serve your clients and anticipate their needs.
- Work in tandem with sales representatives to identify and target specific districts, schools, and state departments that are in the process of curriculum adoptions or seeking new solutions.
- Assist clients in preparing for state and local curriculum adoptions, including providing necessary documentation, supporting materials, and guidance throughout the process.
- Travel up to 85% of the time within your assigned region to meet with clients, attend conferences, and conduct on-site demonstrations.
- Ensure timely follow-up with prospects and clients to nurture relationships, answer questions, and support successful curriculum implementation.
- Maintain detailed records of client interactions, sales activities, and pipeline status within the company's CRM system to support ongoing sales efforts and reporting.
- Provide feedback from clients and prospects to the product development team to inform future product enhancements and curriculum updates.
- Represent IXL Learning at industry events, conferences, and educational workshops to promote our curriculum solutions and expand professional networks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in EdTech sales, with a proven track record of success.
- Demonstrated success in selling K-12 core curriculum products or similar educational solutions.
- At least 5 years of experience in teaching and/or school administration, providing a strong understanding of classroom and district needs.
- Preferably, candidates will have a background in Math education, both in teaching and sales contexts.
- Experience with curriculum adoptions at the district, state, or local level is highly desirable.
- Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing professional proposals, reports, and presentations.
- Comfortable working with educational technology tools and online platforms.
- Passionate about integrating technology into education to improve student learning outcomes.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Willingness to travel extensively, up to 85% of the time, within the designated region.
- Must reside within 45 minutes of a major airport to facilitate travel needs.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence decision-makers at various levels of the education system.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage client information and sales pipelines accurately.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and market conditions.
- Knowledge of the educational landscape, including current standards, policies, and curriculum requirements.
