AIFM Portfolio Management Oversight, Senior Officer
Job description
AIFM Portfolio Management Oversight, Senior Officer at Iq Eq.
About the role
Senior Officer
Portfolio Management Oversight
Position Overview
This role centers on the independent evaluation and supervision of delegated investment activity within an authorized Investment Fund Management Company (AIFM). The successful candidate will ensure rigorous compliance with Capital Markets Regulation and the established mandates of Luxembourg-domiciled funds. The position demands a high level of professional skepticism and ownership of complex oversight activities. You will serve as a critical link between the investment teams, internal governance committees, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for establishing robust monitoring frameworks for all delegated portfolio managers across the spectrum of assigned funds. This involves a deep dive into the adherence to CSSF circular 18/698, specifically concerning the authorization and organization of investment management services. A core component of this function is the continuous assessment of anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing protocols.
The position requires conducting comprehensive initial and periodic due diligence reviews on investment delegates. You will evaluate the effectiveness of their governance structures, operational processes, and internal controls. This includes detailed monitoring of portfolio performance, investment activity, and risk exposures to confirm strict compliance with fund-level investment restrictions.
When material findings, exceptions, or breaches are identified, you will provide clear challenge to investment delegates and ensure timely escalation to Conducting Officers and relevant governance bodies. The role involves the preparation of detailed oversight reports, due diligence assessments, and portfolio review materials for both internal management committees and client governance forums.
You will act as the primary point of contact for clients, investment delegates, and other relevant stakeholders regarding all portfolio oversight matters. Additional duties include supporting regulatory inspections, participating in internal audit initiatives, and contributing to the ongoing enhancement of the AIFM's portfolio management oversight framework. You will also mentor junior team members, fostering the development of the oversight function.
What We Offer
The organization provides a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package. This includes a €15 meal voucher on a monthly basis. You will be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on performance. The benefits package features complimentary health insurance coverage. You will receive 29 days of annual leave per year. The company supports flexible working arrangements, recognizing the importance of an effective work-life blend.
Professional Profile
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Investment Management, or a closely related field. A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience is required within a Luxembourg AIFM, Management Company, Asset Manager, or another regulated investment fund environment.
You must possess strong knowledge of Luxembourg fund regulations, AIFMD requirements, and the principles of portfolio management oversight. Demonstrated experience in delegate oversight, investment due diligence, and the review and challenge of external Portfolio Managers and Investment Advisors is essential.
Professionalism is key. You will bring fluent English language skills, along with excellent analytical capabilities, stakeholder management expertise, and strong report-writing abilities. A CFA, CAIA, or similar professional qualification is considered an advantage.
