About the role
HSMC is seeking a Director of Adult Residential Supports to lead and oversee residential programs serving adults in the Milford area. This role is a full-time position that carries significant responsibility for the direction and quality of adult residential services across the organization. The Director will manage staff, shape program policies, and ensure that all residential supports align with organizational standards and regulatory expectations. This leadership position requires someone who can balance day-to-day operations with long-term strategic planning for the residential support programs. The Director will play a central role in defining the vision for adult residential services and ensuring that every individual receiving support benefits from a safe, structured, and person-centered environment.

What you'll do
- Oversee the daily operations of adult residential support programs and ensure consistent service delivery across all sites and locations
- Supervise and mentor direct support staff, case managers, and residential coordinators within the adult services division on a regular basis
- Develop and implement program policies that meet regulatory standards and reflect best practices in adult residential care and support
- Collaborate with clinical teams to integrate individualized support plans into residential programming and daily routines for each resident
- Monitor quality assurance metrics and conduct regular site reviews to identify areas for improvement in residential services and outcomes
- Manage budgets and allocate resources efficiently to support the staffing and operational needs of residential facilities and programs
- Serve as the primary liaison between the residential programs and external stakeholders including families, guardians, and community partners
- Lead recruitment, hiring, and retention efforts for residential support staff across the adult services portfolio and multiple sites
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations governing adult residential supports and related services
- Design and deliver training programs for staff focused on person-centered care, safety protocols, and ongoing professional development
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to address complex resident needs and develop individualized approaches to residential support planning
- Establish performance standards and accountability measures for all residential support programs to drive continuous quality improvement
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience leading residential or community-based support programs for adults, with a clear track record of managing teams and services
- Bachelor's degree in human services, social work, psychology, or a related field required; a master's degree is preferred
- Several years of progressive leadership experience in direct support or residential program management settings within the adult services sector
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance standards relevant to adult residential care, supports, and related service delivery
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders including staff, families, and community partners
- Proven ability to manage budgets, interpret financial data, and make resource allocation decisions that support long-term program sustainability
- Experience developing and implementing program policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives in residential or community-based support environments
- Comfort with frequent site visits and the ability to manage multiple residential locations or programs simultaneously across a region
Nice to have
- Master's degree in social work, counseling, human services administration, or a closely related discipline at the graduate level
- Prior experience working with HSMC or a similar organization focused on adult residential and community-based support services
- Familiarity with electronic health records or case management software commonly used in residential support environments and settings
- Background in trauma-informed care practices and positive behavior support approaches applied in residential program contexts
- Knowledge of person-centered planning methodologies and supported decision-making frameworks used in adult residential programs

Practical notes
- This is a full-time position based in Milford, US, with responsibilities that may include occasional travel between residential sites and program locations
