Software QA Specialist
Job description
About the role
Higharc operates as a venture-backed startup dedicated to transforming the homebuilding and design industry through modern digital workflows. We are seeking a QA specialist to join our engineering team with the core responsibility of ensuring our platform meets the rigorous standards required for professional home construction documentation. In this role, you will leverage your hands-on experience in the field to validate functionality and safeguard the integrity of critical design tools. The specialist will act as a quality gatekeeper, bridging the gap between technical implementation and real-world drafting requirements. You will be expected to apply a builder's eye for detail to prevent defects before they reach production environments. This position requires a proactive mindset to challenge assumptions and verify that every feature aligns with architectural best practices. Ultimately, your work will ensure that construction professionals can rely on our platform for accurate and dependable documentation.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Evaluate platform quality by applying your professional background in homebuilding and drafting to real-world scenarios.
- Execute manual testing for new features, regression suites, and complex user workflows within our web-based CAD environment to ensure stability.
- Create and manage test cases derived from user stories and product requirements, ensuring complete coverage of construction documentation features.
- Partner with product managers and engineers to analyze technical implementations and uncover edge cases that could impact build integrity.
- Document issues using Linear and verify resolutions prior to release, maintaining clear traceability from defect to resolution.
- Assist in release coordination by checking build readiness and identifying coverage gaps to support our automation engineers effectively.
- Perform exploratory testing sessions focused on 3D rendering interactions to confirm visual accuracy and performance under various conditions.
- Validate document generation workflows to ensure drawings, schedules, and specifications export correctly without data loss.
- Test real-time collaboration features to confirm that multi-user interactions do not result as conflicts or data synchronization problems.
- Maintain a quality-centric perspective on product development by providing actionable feedback that improves the overall user experience for drafters and builders.
Requirements
- Mid to expert level experience in drafting with proficiency in BIM or CAD software such as Revit or AutoCAD, demonstrating a deep understanding of industry standards.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in production homebuilding, including master plan documentation and option management, showing a history of handling complex projects.
- Ability to test features related to 3D rendering, document generation, and real-time collaboration, ensuring that spatial and technical data remain consistent.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are critical.
- Professional fluency in English for all business communications, ensuring clarity in bug reports, test cases, and stakeholder discussions.
- Must be based in Brazil, aligning with the company's remote work policy and regional operational needs.
- A methodical approach to verifying technical requirements against practical construction workflows is essential for success.
- Willingness to follow detailed test procedures while also adapting when exploratory testing reveals unforeseen scenarios.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies, allowing for smoother integration with engineering sprints.
- Experience using bug tracking and test management tools like Linear or Qase, which are already part of the team's workflow.
- Basic knowledge of browser developer tools to inspect elements and debug frontend interactions during manual testing.
- Understanding of software test automation concepts to support the automation team in scaling test coverage over time.
