Director, Business Development
Job description
About the role
Higharc is seeking a strategic and exceptionally well-connected Business Development lead to build and activate the relationships that turn into pipeline across the homebuilding ecosystem. This is a high-EQ, outward-facing role - you'll own how Higharc shows up in a tightly networked market and how those connections convert into real opportunities for Sales. You are a natural connector who treats relationships as assets, building networks rather than lists and earning trust through consistent follow-up and value delivery. You will design and own the business development motion for Higharc, generating high-quality leads and opportunities by engaging builders, partners, and influencers at the right moments. This role demands an authentic love of the game, comfort with hustle, and the ability to turn ideas into real-world opportunities without waiting for permission or a playbook. You will operate independently with an outcome-first mindset while collaborating closely with Sales and Growth Marketing to ensure that your efforts directly shape builder adoption and expansion.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Generate pipeline through outbound business development, building trust-based relationships with builders, partners, and influencers.
- Build a repeatable referral engine: get in the room, deliver value, and leave with three new intros that compound over time.
- Design and lead high-impact experiences, from builder and partner happy hours and roundtables to webinars, roadshows, and co-hosted content.
- Drive partner and influencer engagement by identifying key players, co-creating campaigns, and activating strategic plays that generate demand.
- Stay plugged into the ecosystem - know who has pull, who knows who, and how to connect the dots into new opportunities.
- Hand off well-qualified, well-contextualized leads to Sales, and partner with Growth Marketing on co-branded content and event strategy.
- Stay close to Implementation and Customer Success to turn active customers into references and champions who accelerate new pipeline.
- Track what works, own your number, and continuously refine your approach to maximize the efficiency of your outreach and events.
- Operate with autonomy while aligning with Sales and Growth Marketing to ensure consistent messaging and coordinated demand generation.
- Act as the external voice of Higharc in the homebuilding community, shaping perceptions and driving interest through targeted presence.
Requirements
You have 5-10+ years in business development, partnerships, sales, or GTM roles focused on high-value B2B relationships that matter in the homebuilding or construction ecosystem. You operate with a strong sense of ownership and the confidence to drive your own outcomes without needing constant direction. You have excellent storytelling and listening skills - you make others feel heard, and you tell a damn good story when it is your turn to speak. You have a talent for spotting and activating partner leverage - working with the right players to generate real pipeline that influences buying decisions. You are comfortable working cross-functionally across Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to align on goals and share insights that protect the business. You are willing to travel to the events and markets where relationships are built and pipeline is made, recognizing that presence matters in this networked world. You understand the difference between noise and signal well enough to focus your time where it actually converts into opportunities and revenue. You are based in the United States and able to work remotely while maintaining rigorous communication standards and accountability.
Nice to have
Experience in or adjacent to homebuilding, construction tech, or AEC, giving you an intuitive understanding of the buyer journeys and stakeholder dynamics that shape technology adoption in this industry.
Practical notes
This role is full-time and remote-based within the United States. There may be travel required to events and markets where Higharc operates. No visa sponsorship information is provided in the source material.
