You own the full sales cycle from initial physician outreach to closing high-quality locum tenens placements, acting as the primary point of contact for both clients and candidates. You are accountable for building a durable book of business through consistent, consultative engagement that prioritizes long-term relationships over short-term wins. Every day you will execute a disciplined sales process that blends sourcing, negotiation, and relationship management to drive predictable revenue growth. You will learn and grow alongside top-performing consultants who mentor you on proven techniques for success in the locums staffing market. Your work directly supports healthcare facilities in securing the right physician and advanced practice provider talent at the right time. What you'll do
- Source and engage physicians through targeted outreach, strategic networking, and in-depth research to build a robust pipeline of qualified talent.
- Build and grow a consultative book of business using disciplined telephone engagement and relationship-driven sales techniques that fuel scalable business growth.
- Execute high-volume outbound activity, including structured cold calling, to consistently reach new prospects and expand market presence.
- Conduct in-depth consultative conversations to uncover physician career goals, lifestyle preferences, and clinical priorities with precision.
- Match physicians to opportunities that align with detailed client needs, ensuring compatibility in clinical scope, location, and operational requirements.
- Maintain and grow long-term relationships through proactive outreach, value-driven communication, and thoughtful account management.
- Partner closely with internal operations, credentialing, and compliance teams to ensure all documentation and regulatory standards are met efficiently.
- Deliver a high-touch candidate experience by managing priorities, setting clear expectations, and providing responsive, professional support at every stage.
- Utilize pipeline management methodologies to track opportunities, forecast revenue, and maintain a healthy, actionable sales funnel.
- Represent Hayeslocums with professionalism and excellence in all interactions, reinforcing the brand's reputation for reliability and integrity.
- Collaborate with Sales Enablement to refine messaging, leverage proven playbooks, and incorporate feedback to continuously improve performance.
- Contribute to process improvement by sharing insights from the field, highlighting barriers, and proposing data-informed adjustments to workflows.
Training & Development
All new consultants complete a 6-week, award-winning training program designed to build a strong foundation for long-term success. During this program, you will learn the locum tenens staffing model, healthcare market dynamics, and best practices for consultative selling. You will develop sourcing strategies, recruiting techniques, and negotiation skills tailored to physician placements. The curriculum includes hands-on practice with credentialing, compliance, and operational workflows to ensure you can manage complex engagements. You will master pipeline management and call structure methods that support consistent performance and efficient time use. Throughout training, you will establish daily habits, including goal setting, activity tracking, and reflection, that drive disciplined execution. You will be supported by Sales Enablement and leadership through hands-on coaching, weekly benchmarks, and continuous feedback that accelerate your learning curve.
Requirements
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship is required for this position.
- You must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Fort Lauderdale, FL area to fulfill the in-office requirements of this role.

Practical notes
This role is based in-office in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and requires full-time engagement during standard business hours. All new hires must successfully complete the 6-week training program before transitioning to independent client coverage. The compensation structure includes a base salary, guaranteed bonus for the first 18 months, and uncapped commission eligibility from day one.
