You will own the full cycle of consultative sales focused on physician and advanced practice provider talent within the locum tenens market. This position requires you to blend performance-driven sales activities with relationship-focused recruitment to ensure the right clinicians are matched to the right opportunities. You will be responsible for generating and managing a robust pipeline of physician candidates through proactive outreach and strategic networking. Your daily work will directly support patient care by connecting healthcare facilities with high-quality clinical talent. You will operate as a key representative of Hayes Locums, utilizing a consultative methodology to understand complex hiring needs. Success in this role depends on your ability to build long-term partnerships with both clients and candidates. You will leverage data and market insights to drive sustainable growth and achieve high performance targets.

What you'll do
- Source and engage physicians through proactive outreach, networking, and in-depth research to build a diverse and qualified talent pool.
- Build and grow a book of business using a consultative sales approach, with telephone engagement serving as a primary driver of business growth and relationship development.
- Execute high-volume outbound activity, including cold calling, to identify new opportunities and expand market presence within the healthcare sector.
- Conduct consultative conversations to deeply understand candidate needs, career goals, and clinical requirements to ensure optimal alignment.
- Match physicians to opportunities that precisely align with client needs, facility standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and grow relationships through consistent outreach, value-driven communication, and strategic follow-up to ensure long-term retention.
- Partner with internal teams on licensing, credentialing, and compliance to streamline the placement process and reduce time-to-fill.
- Deliver a high-touch candidate experience while effectively managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations in a fast-paced environment.
Training & Development
All new consultants complete a 6-week, award-winning training program designed to build a strong foundation for long-term success and mastery of the sales process.
- Learn the locum tenens staffing model and intricate details of the healthcare market to understand industry dynamics and trends.
- Develop advanced sourcing and recruiting strategies tailored specifically for physician talent acquisition and retention.
- Practice consultative sales and negotiation skills through realistic scenarios and role-playing exercises with experienced trainers.
- Gain comprehensive exposure to credentialing, compliance, and operational workflows essential for successful placements.
- Build sophisticated pipeline management and call structure skills to optimize daily activities and productivity.
