What you'll do

• Deploy Halter collar systems directly on pioneering farms across Uruguay, managing the physical installation, animal onboarding, and initial training phases alongside producers and their staff.
• Cultivate deep, trust-based relationships with early-adopter ranchers to map their operational workflows, grazing rotations, and decision-making frameworks, identifying friction points where the virtual fence technology must adapt.
• Synthesize field observations into structured, prioritized feedback loops for Product and Engineering teams in New Zealand, articulating technical requirements for firmware, app interface, and algorithm adjustments specific to South American breeds and terrain.
• Act as the internal subject matter expert on South American cattle production systems, educating cross-functional colleagues on local breed behavior (e.g., Bos indicus influence), extensive land management practices, seasonal climate volatility, and regulatory landscapes.
• Conduct rigorous end-to-end product stress testing in live commercial environments, documenting edge cases related to GPS accuracy in varied topography, collar durability under subtropical conditions, and herd dynamics during virtual mustering.
• Design and execute on-farm success metrics for pilot customers, tracking key performance indicators such as labor reduction, pasture utilization efficiency, animal health detection rates, and producer satisfaction scores.
• Collaborate tightly with the South American commercial team to align pre-sales technical validation, deployment scheduling, and post-sales support escalation paths, ensuring a seamless customer journey from demo to renewal.
• Lead "train the trainer" sessions for local farm hands and veterinarians, building local capacity for troubleshooting collar fit, app navigation, and virtual break planning without reliance on remote support.
• Rapidly prototype and field-test configuration workarounds for unique local constraints - such as specific water point layouts, supplementation feeding systems, or firebreak requirements - feeding viable patterns back into the core product roadmap.
• Represent Halter at key industry events, field days, and producer group meetings across the Southern Cone to gather competitive intelligence and advocate for the technology's fit within regional extensive grazing models.
• Maintain a detailed deployment playbook documenting standard operating procedures, failure modes, and resolution paths specific to the Uruguayan context, creating institutional knowledge for future hires.
• Provide on-call support during critical grazing transitions (e.g., weaning, calving, drought management), ensuring producers extract maximum value during high-stakes operational windows.

Requirements

• Demonstrated professional experience within South American cattle production systems, specifically involving extensive grazing management, herd health protocols, and pasture budgeting in temperate or subtropical zones.
• Fluency in Spanish is mandatory; professional working proficiency in English is required to collaborate daily with Product, Engineering, and Leadership teams based in New Zealand.
• Proven ability to translate complex, unstructured field problems into clear, written technical specifications or user stories that remote software teams can action without ambiguity.
• High comfort level with agricultural technology stacks, including GPS/GNSS systems, IoT device provisioning, mobile application ecosystems, and cloud-based data visualization tools.
• Track record of thriving in ambiguous, resource-constrained startup or new-market-entry environments where processes are undefined and priorities shift rapidly based on customer feedback.
• Physical capability and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, handle livestock regularly, and operate farm vehicles (UTVs, motorbikes) across rough terrain for extended periods.
• Valid driver's license and passport; willingness to travel domestically across Uruguay and internationally to New Zealand (HQ) and neighboring South American markets for up to 40% of the year.
